Just out of interest, how are you going to check that it really is only one screen?
Not that I'm going to, but it'd be quite easy for me to password my quest, and have a script-warp to an almost completely identical screen.
No-one'd be the wiser.

Well... my guess is that he has to trust us... simply.
Trust is very important to have in our community, blah blah blah and all of that. icon_biggrin.gif

All right, I'll do it, I'll probably make my first attempt at scripting here.

Well, I have had a go at the One Screen Quest. The good news is that I have come up with a good-ish idea (I hope), the bad news is that I don't think it could last for 5 mins. It's the kind of game you can repeat a few times though, and hopefully you will replay it (If I enter it). Now, I just have to work out how I'm going to do Donk... I mean... don't worry. icon_lol.gif

So to clear things up: I am hoping to enter a quest into this, but time is the big factor from stopping me from entering. icon_unsettled.gif

So far, mine lasts about 3 minutes. Once I add a few more lines of code to my script it will meet the requirement. In fact, mine could possibly last up to about 50 minutes, maybe an hour. Just think about what can take a long time to do in-game and just have scripting give you lots of that task.

And also, the length criteria only applies for someone's first play-through. It should last 5 minutes or more (first play-through) for 95% or more contestant raters in order for it to be eligible.

Mine and Migo's is very much nearing completion, and lasts for however long you want it to icon_wink.gif

But that counts, surely?
You could only play for 1 minute if you weren't very good, but it can easily last for 5 (10, 15, whatever really =P).
And you can reset and start again without leaving the game.
That's ok, right?

EDIT: I suppose I could drop the difficultly levels a bit so people are more likely to last longer.
It's not that hard though really.

Or at least, I found it easier than Migo did.
I programmed it though =P
My dad didn't do too well at it icon_lol.gif

I can't wait to try it out. Oh by the way were you able to get the sub screen into it o.k?

Well, I guess I'm out of this. I would have loved to enter my quest, but I just don't think I can finish it with the restrictions on the minimum time. icon_frown.gif

But on a plus side, I will continue to work on the quest. It was going to be a remake of the original Gameboy Donkey Kong (well you could only play the first level icon_lol.gif ). I had all of the tiles and sprites ripped into it, as well as the Title screen. I had recreated the look of the level, but had to work out how to recreate the hammer and Donkey Kong. Anyway, good luck to the remaining contestants.

Me and Migo are now finished.
I just want to find a couple people to test difficulty levels and things, and we should be ready to submit by the 6th!

EDIT: Oh, we now have till the 14th?

Yeah. I pushed back the date for selfish reasons and to increase the activity of other competitors. I kinda want to improve the classic graphics for my quest. I'm gonna be pretty busy for a while and I didn't want it to get in the way of my life. I might actually need to push it back yet another week so it won't interfere with events surrounding my birthday.
