You have a strange problem.
You know they make pills for that now.
Anyways, redownload it (to get ZQuest and ZC back), right click it, select "Send To >," and select "Desktop (Create Shortcut)." You shouldn't lose em, now.
(I still don't understand the problem. I have 2.10, 2.10.2, 2.11 beta 15, and 1.90 on my desktop, but not 2.5 builds 254 and 429, and they've never disappeared on me. )

A sure-fire way to stop that happening again is to make a copy of the EXE files and put them somewhere else, if the originals vanish just copy them back ... but it really shouldn't be happening.
You could also try setting the "write-protect" flag on the EXE files and see if that stops it from happening again.

Good plan.
But still, put them on the desktop, anyways.
