I think it was TS or somebody that resubmitted the classic tileset with the correct palettes. You could take the only green/blue/red and use them as your base color, making two darker ones for the shading. Just a suggestion.

It's slightly brighter... any better? (Yeah, I'm kinda using my current avatar as a reference at the moment. Although, it feels like it used to. I feel that the original edit is better...)

Btw, don't forget to make his eyes solid black.

There really was no Gold Palette in the original... I'll see what I can do, though.

Wow, I really, really like it.
Oh, please don't do that. I just think it would look bad with such an advanced style Link sprite.
BTW Moonwhisper, I think your current avatar is from Zelda 2, not Zelda 1.

I would humbly suggest looking to the latest New BS palette for your browns. I went through almost exactly the same quandry when I adjusted New BS CSet 6 to look better with True BS Link and his (light) brown hair and clothing. The only difference was that I was changing light peach to brown, rather than gold to brown.

You're probably misinterpreted what I really meant.
The eyes on this Link sprite (and on many others nowadays) is a 2x2 block for each eye. One side is the iris, the other the white part of the eye. I was suggesting to change the iris to be black, rather than blue.

Ehh, they're fairly similar. Except Z2 Link is more hardcore looking.
I tried editing the browns, though... and that did not end too well. I suppose I should attempt to darken up the red, today.
Edit:
Success! Err, well, do you think so?
