Ah yes, quite the improvement icon_thumbsup.gif

With a little work, a bit more varation and perhaps another section, this could be quite nice icon_smile.gif

Even though its the best one i have made by myself, it still isnt that good.
what kind of a new section should it be, fast, slow, what? should i add any drums? icon_unsettled.gif

Ah yeah, that's all the same melody repeated over and over.
Not that it's bad, it just needs something more.

Take any pop music today, and it'll have a verus and a chorus.
In the same way, your game music needs different sections.

I'm afraid I'm too tired to think about how it'd be good to do it now though, it's 3 AM, and a good time for me to go to sleep at that.

Ah yes, that's what it needs, a different section and a bit of structure with the two repeated and some varations on them.

If you're planning on using it in ZC you'd better make sure it loops nicely also.

The second section is made up of 4 parts, each simmilar but with variations.
Personally, when I listen to it, I think that the last of the 4 parts should start high up, with 4 high notes that go down in an arpeggio, ending in the same way it does at the moment.

If you get me?

If you don't I'll go get Cubase out again =P

Also, the rythmn that you had in the orginal track that's now like a backing, I think it may sound better if you were to add emphasis to some of them, making it sound more like a dotted rythmn. Perhaps not too far though.
So at the moment, it's 4 notes of the same length, for the sake of argument I'm going to say they're quavers (I think they're shorter but let's not quibble).

Presently, the rythmn is:
Quaver, Quaver, Quaver, Quaver, Quaver, Quaver, Quaver, Quaver.
Where each of the notes is represented with even stress.

I think if it were perhaps a little more like:
Strong, Weak, Weak, Strong, Weak, Weak, Strong, Weak.
It may sound a bit less monotonous.

Urm.
OK, suppose we have an 8 note rythmn, where all of the notes are the same length and are all played in the same way.
For the sake of argument, let's say '0' is an unstressed beat, and '1' is a stressed beat.

You understand accents, strong beats etc., yes?

So what you have is:
0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0.

And what I'm suggesting is:
1,0,0,1,0,0,1,0.

so are you referencing my song? like the 8 notes that are the same, then the next change a note? that would probably sound much better if i added something to it, wouldnt it?

EDIT: I just messed around with it, and got it to sound a little bit better. what do you think?

Sounds the same to me...

Anyway look.

Listen to this one: http://jishynarzak.g...fandthings2.mid

You hear the first 8 notes, correct?
And that rythmn is repeated throughout?

And at the moment the stresses on those 8 notes is:
0,0,0,0,0,0,0

So try making it:
1,0,0,1,0,0,1,0

Yes?
And make it do that for every repetition of that rythmn on that part.

It's really pretty good, but I think it sounds better with these instrument changes...

I know you're just looking for feedback and suggestions, but with MIDIs and other general music-related things, I find it best to teach by example. That said, I suggest you check this out and take a look at what I've done; this file is how Stuff and Things turned out after I got my hands on it. icon_heh.gif You'll see a fairly-edited version of what you already had, and I added a completely new segment to the song, one I think works out pretty well. Hope you don't mind, and that you might see something you'll want to try using later on.

[Information]
Time Sig: 2/4; two quarter-notes per measure.
Scale: Bb major; two flats, Bb and Eb.
Tempo: 67 & 1/2 beats per minute.
Usage in ZC: Don't worry about loop times.

I've been at this sort of thing since around 2001 or so, so I've had plenty of time to figure out how to make MIDIs like I do.

I was also a band student back when I was in school (graduated in 2004), and I think it's safe to say that my experience there has helped.
