And I never said I prefer solid black. I personally don't use solid black in my custom palettes; I just don't use such a light color for my outlines.

1: The tall grass takes up too much, in my opinion, it looks better when broken up.
2: The overhangs seem a little thick, break them up a little and put some visible stuff under it, and it will look better.
3: The Link portrait was the first thing my eyes went too, sorry, but I don't think portraits look good in the passive subscreen.
You don't really have to change anything, this is just the problems I had with it.
Ennonfenom: Make the screen less symmetrical, and you are good to go.
Moonwhisper: Nice, I don't have really any problems with this shot, symmetry is OK since it is a boss right?
Sharon Daniel: Same as Moonwhisper's, but it has some nice eye candy, you get my vote.

Ebola Zaire: Three problems with this shot:
1: The tall grass takes up too much, in my opinion, it looks better when broken up.
2: The overhangs seem a little thick, break them up a little and put some visible stuff under it, and it will look better.
3: The Link portrait was the first thing my eyes went too, sorry, but I don't think portraits look good in the passive subscreen.

I know that the tall grass is... filling, but that's how it would be in real life, right? A rogue grass seed would pop up and spread around itself, instead of popping up in other locations at the same time... you get what I'm saying?
Yeah, I was worried about the overhangs... but they're hard to edit! ARGH!!!
And the Link portrait is probably going to get removed by the time I finish this quest, because its really squishing everything else in the subscreen...

I don't use DoR, and I can't change the palette in other people's quests.
And I never said I prefer solid black. I personally don't use solid black in my custom palettes; I just don't use such a light color for my outlines.
Okay, that's all right.
However, I think the real problem here is difference in monitors. On my monitor, particularly the one I was using when I made the DoR tileset (and the one before it, too), the color I used was as dark as I could get it and still distinguish it from solid black, which I still use for the transparency color and outlines in some CSets. Yes, my screen brightness was set at maximum; the only way I could have increased screen brightness more was to mess with the gamma balance, which totally hurt my eyes.
Since I've had two monitors with displays that dark, and one which is noticeably brighter, you tell me: which is correct? To whose monitor should I be catering? Since there's no way to definitively measure screen brightness, all I can do is to hear people argue and decide who to listen to.
(Incidentally, that's probably why /M/'s entry in SOTM is so.... red...)

Ebola: Repetetive screen, and what's with the shadows above the treetops?
Ennonandnad: Too much brown, and more shadows above the treetops?
Moonwhisper: The perspective of the LttP dungeons looks really weird in comparison to the final boss. I think less walls in this screen would work better.
Sharon: Eww. I'm sorry, but I can't stand those graphics. Epic Fail.

Due to being short on time, I won't write out an essay like I normally do.

Ennonandnad really now rev!
Well anyways! Good job SD, and congrats on the win!
