Hey, I was just wondering if it would be possible to create a flower->next type, similar to tall grass and regular bushes.

How are flowers different, mechanically that the present types are insufficient?

Perhaps allow an attribute for sprite displayed when slashing a bush->Next?

Flower types use a sprite different from bushes! That's why I like them.

This sounds like a good idea!! It would even work for pots, if the player would want.

2.55 already allows custom sprites on the pre-existing combo types, since Alpha 45, so that you can create pot shards, or flower clippings animations, using Slash->Next or Generic combo types. See: combos.txt for how to use this feature.

I coincidentally was wondering about this yesterday. Very interesting feature that I'll most likely be using!

I am aware. I thought it'd just be easier to add a flowers-> next combo

No, this one isn't happening. The existing engine capabilities facilitate this, and combo types are a limited resource.
