Well, I'm not 100% sure which topic this belongs to, but this one seems to fit best.
Though it for my Quest, I have a general question. Is it possible to take graphics from an old game catridge and put them on your computer?
What I want to do is create a ZC Quest that mixes ST:TNG and LoZ. However, trying to create images of the Enterprise and her crew is a lot of work. However, a lot of it has already been done by Nintendo herself, with several old ST:TNG video games. I have one, a very old one, for the origonal Game Boy. There's one for GBC, but I haven't been able to locate a copy of it. However, both of these games use the same basic graphics, the only difference is one is black and white, the other is color. The graphics I want from the game show 8-bit images of the Enterprise, the bridge, the transporter room, and head-shots of several of the characters. I want to include images like these in my game, but they are hard to create on my own.
I've located a few screenshots of the games, but usually just the title screen and Picard. So, is it possible? Is there a way to get graphics from the catridge onto my comptuer?

It's probably technically possible--though I haven't actually checked--but you'd almost certainly need some sort of specialized hardware and/or software for it, and considering that we're talking about original Gameboy games here, finding the aforementioned equipment will almost certainly be difficult, if not impossible. Assuming that it even exists.
So what to do? You essentially have two options: use a magnifying glass and reconstruct each tile pixel by pixel in ZC, or get a ROM of the game and use an emulator to take your own screenshots. Personally, I would recommend the latter.

Maybe, but that would involve getting the data from the cartridge on to your computer, right? In which case, it's the same as downloading a ROM, only more work.

One way would be to have a TV Tuner card in your PC, and then set you Aerial/Video cable into that instead of your normal TV. Providing that works, you can PrintScreen away after that. I've got one in my PC but have never used it - it's too far away from my TV to reach!

That all sounds far beyond my abilities.
I think I did see ROM of the games available for download...ironcally, when I was looking for graphics. I'll see if I can download them and give them a try. Thanks!
