I am trying to upload an avatar with a transparent background.
I've had a animating gif with a transparent background before. But I didn't make it, so I have no idea how to do it.
I have tried each extension and none seem to support transparency.
does anyone know to do this?
how I mine for fish?

It has to be a .gif format but, unfortunately, I don't know any more. Sorry.

GIF and PNG support transparency.
You need to add what is called 'alpha' (or transparent pixels) to your image - in most editors this is represented as a checkered grey background. GIMP can help you - it has a filter that changes a specific color to alpha.

If all else fails, you could just use Pure's background color as the background for your image .
