Seriously though, my computer spontaneously restarts, and sometimes it hangs and never actually boots up. A couple of days ago, it would do what I just described, and then BEEP, at intervals of maybe 3-4 seconds. W.....T......F...... I have to post this quickly because it restarted (and beeped) when I tried to post this a little while ago.

If memory serves me right, the beeps are describing what the problem is. How many beeps is it and are there any double beeps (one beep directly after the other)?

The most likely hardware problem is with memory. Try cleaning the contacts of each RAM module with a q-tip and reseating them.

Also reseat everything else inside the machine and check all the cable connections (don't plug in anything that doesn't look like it has already been plugged in before.)

I had a similar issue, I suppose, a few months ago. Getting new RAM did indeed fix it. icon_smile.gif Actually, it was getting rid of the old RAM chip that fixed it.
