I don't know how to get big chests (like the ones in link to the past). Is there a way to get them to work without scripting? If not can I have a link to a script if there already is one.

In 2.50 or higher just make the front combos treasure chests (normal, locked or boss) through an inherent flag and the back combos treasure chests (copycat).
Also like for small chests, flag the front combos with flag 10 and set the secret item in the screen data.
