We have three entries, so Map of the Month will start next Friday. You guys are welcome to keep submitting any maps you have until then, however! The bigger the contest, the better!
(I'm not really sure if I should be posting that in the MotM Reminder thread instead, but for now, I think it's okay in this thread)
Also, if someone wants to take a crack at making a signature banner that wasn't made in Blingee, they can feel free to. I'd be interested in seeing what people come up with! I'd do it myself, but my graphic design skills are, uh... not there.

I realize making maps takes considerably longer than making a single screenshot, and thus the entire model that MotM is based on (which was more or less that of SotW, with week swapped out for month) doesn't really work all that well considering. I think MotM can be saved by making changes, which is what I was trying to do a while back, when we decided to run the contest only when we got three, or more maps.
This, obviously, didn't work out all that well. It did bring up the general activity by a little, as we at least got some new contests out, rather than absolutely none, so it wasn't a total failure, but I think it needs more changes than that to really make a difference.
Which is why Rambly's here, more or less. I have a few more ideas that I'd like to discuss with him about brining into MotM, but I haven't gotten to it yet. Hopefully we'll be able to get things back to the way they were for the first 12 contests, and if the response this thread has gotten is any indication, I think we will be just fine.

As for when it'll be up, I'll let Ben have his first (what she said), so it's up to him.

Also, I think the average screen for MotM is going to look different than the average screen for the other two contests. One screen contests focus on only one screen, which for ZC, are quite small, and can only show a very limited view of one's work, plus the fact that one screen alone might fail to show as much as you might hope. Thus you are more inclined to pick certain types of screens than others. A map contest would also better focus on elements such as the flow from screen to screen and how each screen conforms to a bigger picture, which for one screen contests at best would leave someone to only guessing about. Thus you get an overall better representation of one's work.

I don't know, just giving ideas.
