What would yield better results? A few Maze Path screens, or many screens that side-warp you to the entrance? Or a combination?

The second option if your going for the oot feel. That would be awesome but if you make one two or three paths lead you somewhere then the players get confused great Idea thanks.

Side warps.
Maze path should only be used as a way to stop the player from entering that area until they go to point A and learn the path. With side warps you can just **** wth their minds until they memorize where each path takes them and eventually rule out enough of the wrong answers to go through the correct one. Basically it's like a maze path, just with some diversity. which makes it much better.
So in short, use side warps until you get to like, the end, where either somewhere in town, or perhaps in the woods you find a hermit who tells you the correct path code.

Both (I prefer more side warps), just give clues to which way to go on a maze path screen. Use side warps for confusing mazes, maybe not just warps that go to the entrance, but also other screens.

sidewarps. They allow you to be more creative with the whole process.

Combination. Mix it up and make it interesting!

Here is what I have decided to do with the Lost Woods:
The first screen (of the actual maze part) will be a Maze Path screen. The next few screens will be side warp->Entrance. Maybe 2-3 screens where side warp-> random screen. the last screen (before the forest temple area) will be another Maze path. THe only thing left to ponder is whether or not to put an NPC that tells you the directions in the Maze path screens. Thanks though, all of you, for your suggestions!

Try to do something like in Hero of Dreams' desert area. That was quite a good maze. A LOT of side warps.
