.~**~..~* 2. New Enemies *~..~**~.
* Peahat (L2)
A blue Peahat that flies towards Link.
* Lizalfos (L1, L2)
A combination of a Darknut and a Lynel, the Lizalfos shoots sword beams from behind his shield. His lack of armor, however, leaves him vulnerable at the sides and back!
* Raven (L1, L2)
Similar to the Keese with one major difference: the Raven will fly towards Link. The blue Raven is guaranteed to drop bombs, so keep an eye out if you find yourself in need!
* Bokoblin (L1, L2)
Though less intimidating than his elder brother the Moblin, the Bokoblin is also more cautious: he has ditched his projectiles in favor of a dirk and buckler. He is invulnerable from the front, but can be attacked at the sides and back.
* Miniblin (CSet 7, CSet 8, CSet 9)
On his own, the Miniblin is perhaps the least intimidating member of the Moblin family, but in a pack he can fast become overwhelming. He charges right towards Link, armed with a pitchfork. It is said that he stole his weapon from a decommissioned Armos.
* Poe
The Poe is a reclusive enemy that haunts dark places and shies away from the light. When his hood is up, he is invulerable to everything except fire, bombs, and magic; but when his hood is off, anything can get him! Beware that the Poe will drain the magic of anyone who touches him; he is guaranteed to drop Magic, however, so the reward for the risk is certain. Fire from the Candle is said to burn off his hood at one fell swoop.
In the enemy list, there are two entries that work together to act as one enemy: #186 Poe and #187 Poe (w/o Hood). When the former is killed, it "splits" into the latter instantly and without a spawn animation. For this reason it is recommended that only enemy #186 Poe be placed on the screen unless you have some special need for unhooded Poes that spawn instantly and without a spawn animation.
* Redead
The Redead makes his abode in places that reek of death. He walks slowly, but when at last he reaches his target he will grab on and sap the life out. Neither the boomerang nor the hookshot can stun him, so be wary of his approach!
The attacking animation is, unfortunately, not implemented.
* Armos (w/o Shield)
When Ganon heard that the Armos, despite expensive training and equipment, was nevertheless unable to make use of its shield, he threw an imperial tantrum. Try as he might, he could not get the Armos to do anything with its shield. After much frustration and expense, he ordered that the Armos should toss its unused shield on the ground so that it might better use its weapon.
The actual story is that, with the shielded Lizalfos and Bokoblin added, the graphically shielded but mechanically unshielded Armos felt inconsistent. I initially shielded the Armos properly, but this made it too powerful for such a common enemy, especially in his fast form. Both shielded and unshielded variants are retained in the enemy list, with Armos (w/o Shield) set to be spawned by the Armos combo. In 2.55, one might set both to be spawned with a different likelihood, but this is not possible as of 2.50.2, the latest version released for Linux.
* Crab
Hiding under the sand on the shores of Hyrule, the Crab is most comparable to the Leever. But don't worry: this little guy packs very little punch. It feels a little unfair to fight one, to be honest, but it usually throws the first blow!
* Wolfos (L1, L2)
With his excellent sense of smell, the Wolfos will seek Link out wherever he may hide! Just like the Rope, as soon as he has his prey within sight, he charges immediately. The Wolfos typically forms a pack and inhabits unpeopled lands, which he will savagely defend from intrusion.
* Flameslug
The Flameslug is hot, hot, hot! It leaves a trail of fire in its wake, but its flames can be doused with any melee weapon! Take care, because the Flameslug is invulnerable to all projectiles.
* Chu Chu (CSet 5, CSet 7, CSet
The Chu Chu is a very weak enemy that looks similar to a Zol and moves like a lazy Vire. It comes in three colours, each being guaranteed to drop something specific: green drops magic, blue bombs, and red health.
