If the F-Zero race track doesn't feature the ability for racers to crash over the barriers of the race track, exploding and murdering millions of people in the process then the DLC ain't worth it :/

I bought the DLC and also registered the $7 voucher I acquired as a Nintendo Network Premium Member via my digital purchases.

I learned today that Nintendo reverted their changes to the online VR system. It's a lot easier to accrue a high rating now because more weight has been placed on where you finish rather than the ratings of other people in the room. I sort of liked the skill-based system, but this works, too.
Probably for the better in all honesty. I know a lot of people hated the new VR system when it was implemented. Plus as this is Mario Kart, Luck is always gonna be a bigger factor than Skill.
Anyhow, been playing around with the DLC for a bit too. No complaints. It's all been pretty good. Kinda surprised Link is a Heavy Weight too.
In the future, I do hope we get some worthwhile content via Amiibos as the Mii Outfits were really underwhelming and Battle Mode to be changed around a bit. At least allow more tracks to be played in it if we're not getting Arenas any time soon.

DLC Pack 2 was released this morning as well as a free 200cc update. What does everybody think?
I had time for only one race on 200cc before going to work, but it was absolutely hilarious. I was bouncing into walls left and right and yet I was having a ball. The new speed is quite a bit like F-Zero. I'm thrilled. I can't wait to finish work so I can practice some more with my roommates...

New tracks are fun, especially Big Blue and Ribbon Road. I enjoyed them a lot. I still don't enjoy the unbalancing of characters in each DLC pack though... seriously, this pack gets two Animal Crossing characters and a returning character in Dry Bowser... while the last pack only gives you Link and Tanooki Mario and Cat Peach, who are pretty worthless additions when there are tons of other fan favorites they could have added back with those slots. Oi...
200cc is pretty exciting and interesting, I need to get used to it. But I think I've probably turned it off for the last time in a long time again... maybe. Just tried 150cc Grand Prix on Triforce Cup, since I hadn't tried it yet even since back when it came out... and fuck everything.

Isabelle is the best and only I'm allowed to race as her
er, uhm
I've raced through the Crossing Cup so far, and I tried 200cc earlier with a friend. So far, the new tracks are really good, especially the Animal Crossing track. But I wasn't exactly too fond of 200cc, to be honest...

Did we really need Neo Bowser City? I haven't played it on 200cc yet, but I imagine that S-curve near the end is borderline impossible on it. Plus, I really disliked it to begin with. Also, I really love how the CPUs have absolutely no idea what to do with all of their extra speed in 200cc.

I tried it and yes, Neo Bowser City is nigh-impossible on 200cc.
STILL LOVE IT.

It's Blade Runner: The Mario Kart Level so yes, yes we did.

Downloaded both packs the other day while playing with some friends. I was super impressed!
First of all, playing as Link was kind of surreal. I remember playing Mario Kart on the N64 and being frustrated that I couldn't play as Link like I could in Smash Bros. I was like, five, but racing as Link was a weird childhood dream fulfillment. I will concede it's a little odd that you can now play an Animal Crossing character riding a Zelda kart on an F-Zero stage in what is still advertised as "Mario" Kart, but meh. It's still awesome and I'm not complaining. In addition to the fun new characters, I enjoyed every single new track and I was quite thrilled that they stayed a little more true to the classic stages this time around.
Honestly, the DLC improved the quality of the game for me in such a big way. I hope they keep it coming.
