I know that you can use MP3 files in quests now... But I can't getthem to work... I have the file in the same folder as my quest... Here's a file map:
My Documents/ZeldaClassicAlpha(The zquest.exe and zelda-w.exe areboth in this folder)/MyQuests/ZeldaUnnamed/ Here's my quest file AND the MP3 file.... What's wrong?
EDIT: WOAH!!! I have 300 posts!!! Only 700 to go! YAY!

honestly, just use MIDI for now, until it gets to the point where MP3s can be loaded into quests and managing the loops and stuff, its really pointless to use them unless they loop from start to finish.

I only ever use mp3s in quests if A) it's used on the title screen, and B) if there are no decent midis to use. I suggest you use my little, uh, "method" there. icon_razz.gif

Wrong!
MP3 files won't be included into .qst files because that would blow up quest files beyond all proportion. Instead, just give players the MP3 files separately.

As to loops, yes it's far from perfect ... but until 2.5 is out don't expect too many new features.

Now to the actual problem: if you go into Zquest and select Etc./Play music, then your MP3 file ... does it play?

If not it's either your file or a ZC bug. If it does, select the file as dmap music and set the midi for that dmap to (none) for now. The idea is that you'll be able to set a midi and a mp3, and if the mp3 isn't found the midi will play, but I'm not sure that works yet.

I ask about windows because I thought you might be on a Mac.
You're obviously doing something wrong then, since it works for me and others.
and.... I didn't come in here to hack or slash at vista, so quit being so sensitive and jumping down my throat for trying to help you.

Oh no no no no! I didn't mean to do that! It waskinda meant as a joke... you know, everybody says that vista is so bad an such... and now a guy has a problem with somthing ON Vista... See my point? I am very greatfull for your help (everybody) So I don't mean to sound like I did... You know,I'm norwegian and I don't know english in and out, thus leaving me for only the basic words, thus again, may make me sound diffrentthan I want to. This has happened alot latey... Sorry for that icon_frown.gif
But, yes, I must be doing SOMTHING wrong... But I can't see what that is supposed to be... Cause I'm doing exactly as you said... And it works in zquest, but not in zelda-w...

My mistake then. icon_wink.gif
There are constant op system/browser wars going on around here I make it a point not to get involved in all of that, I don't care one way or the other what someone else decides to use.

make double sure the MP3 is in the folder with ZC, that seems to be where the problems always occur

Aye; Having everything in the same folder (At least while keeping the different Betas separate.) seems to keep things working nicely. Subfolders should only be for images. All .qst and .qsb and .key and .exe and .dat and .mp3 and .wav and .z and .std files should be in the same folder.

Well... Documents/ZeldaClassicAlpha/ Here's my zquest.exe, Zelda-w, the quest ANDthe mp3 file... Do I have to do anything else in ZC before it will work when playing the quest? I've selected the d-map songto that file, but do I have to select a rule or somthing?
