They're definitely cool, (Aside from Zelda's lingerie armor. Like, really?) but Lana, Linkle, Agitha, Cia, and now Marin are all generic anime girls, and they're not cool. Cia's kinda cool, but she's just a yandere.

To be fair, Agitha's pretty much on the nose for her Twilight Princess depiction. And I hated her then too.

Ow, Marin's singing actually hurts my ears. Whoever they cast was definitely not the right voice for her. I always thought Marin was either a teenager or a young adult in LA, this voice sounds more fitting for like a toddler.

 

Oh and look Pegasus Boots on a character that already has a ton of kicking moves while using her Crossbows. *sigh* Some good variety there in weapons. 

 

I'm probably passing on them, it's not like the Wii U version gets anything beyond the characters anyways (which is still dumb).

I'm so happy about Link's Awakening representation, don't get me wrong. I'm happy for this and am glad to see it's not forgotten. But... I can't stand the voice. It's too generically cutesy. Link's Awakening would have led me to believe she would have had a clean, beautiful singing voice, not one of those irritating fake child voices. We already had a cutesy voice in Lana, and she already sang sometimes! Marin should have had a better voice.

 

But I'm still glad we got her at all.

Well nintendo thinks gamers are a "hate movement" anyway, or at least they publicly said so to avoid press scrutiny, so it's not like screwing over part of the fanbase would mean much to them at this point.

It wasn't gamers as a whole. I'm pretty sure that was the most aggressive side of "passive-aggressive" they could go for without an opening for a slander lawsuit, to bite back at the whole "splice together content to make up an insult to be offended by" issue. (Stopping here, since this *could* be a touchy subject, and I'd like to keep my "zero ban" record.)

The Link's Awakening Pack is due out this Thursday for all regions. All I can say is: Marin, A lot of people who have played Link's Awakening are probably glad to see you again, but please....Stop singing! (I almost didn't make it past the first couple of seconds of the Link's Awakening Pack trailer because her singing voice was that annoying!) You know something's wrong when the beeping that makes up her singing in Link's Awakening sounds much better than her singing voice here.

Propaganda 101, INdirectly saying a word, is the same as DIRECTLY saying it.  The press has tried to label us as violent for years, it failed, now they're trying a different approach, and the big N re-enforced that.  So yes, it WAS gamers on the whole.

 

Don't fall for the "X-Suffix does not mean X(sans suffix)" stuff, it's an excuse to stop pushback for blatant anti-gamer propaganda.  We and our hobby are under attack.

Can't say I'm all that surprised on the choices. Wasn't planning on buying any of the packs regardless since no Adventure Maps still and Marin's singing would require me to mute the TV when playing as her.

#1 Toon Zelda.. Wait don't we have her already? I guess this is ST's Toon Zelda, just I don't know if we really need her. Giving Tetra a Toon Zelda outfit and a new weapon would've worked still. She doesn't seem like something worth paying for and more of a Free DLC type thing like Medli was.

 

#2 Ravio: Simple enough: I still despise the rental shop with a passion.

 

#3 Yuga: Expected and he's kind of boring without being connected to a story in the game.

 

I'm kind of surprised Linebeck isn't in over Toon Zelda honestly though. Maybe they're waiting for HW NX to add him and make people buy the same base game yet again with more exclusive content you can't have on the other versions for no reason.

Technically I would say they passed over Linebeck or Byrne and gave us Toon Zelda, since we've known from the start we'd get two ALBW characters, which the former two are obviously not at all.

 

Anyway, I...kind of disagree with you?  They could do some reallllly neat things with both of them.  Toon Zelda will probably utilize phantoms to reference Spirit Tracks, and Ravio has all the items of the rental system...particularly the nice items.  I mean, even if it gets a little lazy, I can't blame them for having like a bajillion characters at this point.  I've already been happy enough having a Ganondorf that is properly badass.

I agree Lineback would have been a better addition than toon Zelda, in spite of my dislike for Phantom Hourglass.

Ravio is actually kind of interesting since I'm assuming his move-set will be based around the items in ALBW?

How does Ravio even have all these sweet items if he's such a huge coward? Maybe he stealth'd his way through all the Lorule dungeons and just took the items, but was too chickenshit to fight the bosses?
