Same here. Mario and Luigi did bring something new to the table with a more active battle system (dodging attacks via jumping and possibly counterattacking via their hammers). However, I felt SMRPG had that certain feel to it that I probably only got from that and Paper Mario. I guess I just enjoy it more.
Sharon: The power of the handhelds seem to be more "between consoles" than consoles, themselves. I felt GBA was between SNES and N64 (in game size) and the DS between N64 and Gamecube (also in game size).

*also notes Mario Kart 64 and Mario Kart DS* - actually, that may be a bit more than graphics. What I do know is MK64's racers were flat, while MKDS's racers were actual 3-dimensional objects.
