...even within that article it states that the kinds of data associated with those items would be perfectly sensible in trying to improve and support the operating system. To call these "security risks" seems awfully click-baity and misleading, and will do little more than stir up a pot that is perfectly fine. Unless we TRULY believe that Microsoft is obtaining critical personal data when UAC triggers and then selling it to advertisers, which I somehow doubt.

What people are most worried about is information like searches or OneDrive contents that could somehow get them into trouble. It's just paranoia. Microsoft has turned over information to the NSA and FBI before to apprehend/track actual wanted criminals, so most people assume they're going to get flagged as a false positive or something. Real talk: the FBI doesn't care about all the porn you view unless it's illegal :)

Plus, people are concerned that if they're on a metered connection with a data cap (which should be illegal themselves but that's an entirely different discussion) that the telemetry reporting will slowly eat at their data usage.

The thing that bugs me is that now these tracking methods are overriding your hosts file to a small extent. If I choose to turn a setting off, make sure it's actually off!

I haven't updated my Win7 machine in a while, so ironically, I think I'm safer from Microsoft that I wish I had to be.

The privacy concerns are ramping up even more.

I'm shocked that the EFF hasn't said anything about this...

Windows 10 Enterprise checking in.

Only issue I've seen so far is with Edge not working perfect with iTunesConnect, but it's not a big loss.

As far as I can tell from peoples posts, ZC works, but not in fullscreen mode.

What Coolgamer said. It works perfectly fine in a Window but not in Fullscreen. Thankfully you can increase the Window size to any resolution you want by editing the configuration file and the game will scale up.

Microsoft Edge doesn't scroll correctly on Google Docs. It jumps 100 pages.

Sorry to kind of revive a topic after three months of inactivity, but I really wish I would try things out before immediately going into "OMG it sux because its new and Microsoft is shoving it down my throat". Honestly, as many of you know, I had to get a new computer due to my laptop being practically dead. I bought myself a good desktop with Windows 10 and after playing some games and toying around with things, I honestly think it's amazing. I haven't had any problems yet. A few things are a bit weird, but it's really a small concession. Windows 10 really is the way of the future, and any problems that it may have had seemed to have been fixed. To be honest, I'm currently rating Windows 10 at the same level I am Windows 7 with XP still being my favorite, despite that being dead now. I don't know if updating from 7 / 8 / 8.1 has anything to do with it, but I do wonder if that caused a lot of the problems people had.

Windows 10 had a lot of teething issues when it first launched, they've fixed a ton of glaring/obvious problems since then, especially with the Threshold 2 update.

The most recent update has (at least for me) fixed some of the phoning home that Windows 10 used to do. WireShark isn't showing anomalous traffic when I try to just do a local search, for example.

So, are you guys saying people should download Windows 10 now? I still have 8, and the notification won't go away. With a popup every once in awhile. :P

^I don't know about that, since I bought a brand new Windows 10. But I would say go for it. Just make sure you back up anything important first though.

I'd stick with 8. 10 is in a permanent Beta, and I will not touch it until I absolutely have to. Besides, 8 is superior if you have a touch screen computer (which I do)
