Old games, Y U NO RECORD? (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ DirectDraw was more 2D oriented. I mean, it could be used to draw 3D, but it would be slow. Direct3D is the one that is more 3D oriented. The problem lies in the way DirectDraw is handled. It is also so old that most screen recording software is not coded to detect it like Direct3D or OpenGL. I wish I could be of more help.

A bit of a necropost, but I bring the solution!

 

So what you want to do to accomplish this is download VMPlayer, a free Virtual Machine program.  Then you want to nab a Windows 98 ISO from somewhere.  Next, install the Windows 98 Virtual Machine, and go through all of that standard stuff.  What you need to remember is that USB and Rewritable CDs weren't a thing back then, so your Flash Drives and other devices based on USB aren't going to work (at least, mine failed to work).  You need Folder2ISO to make ISOs out of your real machine's folders, to attach to the virtual drive and copy files over.  Lastly, following the steps listed here should get sound working on your virtual machine.  Finally, load the games on the virtual machine, use the recording software of your choice on your real machine to record the virtual machine window, and have fun!

Hey Koh, You know to make it easier you could obtain a Windows 98 SE iso install it then install this. http://www.msfn.org/...9-98-se-sp-328/

Its a unofficial Service pack to update Window 98 SE to make it use newer stuff well sorta, but it does add usb support.
