Welcome to the first update of my new side project The Jungle.

I'm working on this as a sort of experiment, and to practice dungeon designing for my main project The Last Emperor. This quest is meant to be very simple, restricting itself to the mechanics of Z1, and is also meant to be very difficult.

I've made a demo that encompasses the first level. Let me know what you think! I look forward to hearing from you guys!

EDIT: Prolly shoulda mentioned that you can get bombs, the boomerang, arrows, the bow, and one heart container in this demo.

Did I seriously do good playing this obvious bugged unpolished absurd demo joke?

I'm sorry, but I can only give this a 0. This is hard. No, not the fun kind of hard. This here just teases you with obvious bugs, cheap difficulty, warps that send you back to the start after you made decent progress, cheap tricks to make things harder complete with no save OR continue. This is anything but fun. Do you really think putting a HC on a death spike isn't adding insult to the injury?

 

 

 

And was all these unfair unbalanced pointless rooms just to mislead you from the key that was RIGHT NEXT TO THE ENTRANCE?

 

 

 

And if that wasn't enough, the game tries its hardest to cheap shot you at the end.

 

I tell you what though, it is difficult. Difficult to comprehend this monstrosity, difficult to accept this even exists, difficult to understand how you could leave such critical bugs in your game, difficult to expect anything from good from it. So yeah, it IS difficult, but not the good kind, sorry.

I bug-tested it. I kept the undercombo blank because I thought it looked funny. I don't know what's going on with the first three screens lol. That is a serious issue.

Anyway thanks for playing. I wanted it to be Gygaxian, but maybe it's too evil. Did you get the bow and boomerang?

re first shots: you either made Link the new Jesus or you forgot to set the water combos.

re lack of undercombos: it seems you are advertising this quest as a form of testing grounds for your serious quest, and making this into a complete joke isn't going to make your serious quest look any good I'm afraid.

re items: I got the boomerang; never managed to find the bow.

Lol the bow is in the room next to the boomerang. You need the bow to get the heart container.
