Not often that I make my own threads here really.

Anyway, I'm scripting Bombchus (Blaman's idea) =D
Just so you lot know.

I've got most of it sorted, should have it finished sometime today or tomorrow.
I'll post the script up, hopefully with an example quest and possibly with a video when I'm finished.

Yay! It's time for every ZCer's dream... Bombchu Bowling! So, how will it work? Will it work like in Oracles where it seeks the nearest enemy and says, "Hello," in its own special way? Or like OoT where it goes in a straight line?

You throw out the bombchu, then Link is frozen while you control its movements with the arrow keys.

EDIT: OK, script is pretty much finished now.
Just need to do a bit of touching up, make a little demo quest and write a 'how-to' tutorial.

The script isn't that complex really.
I've hit a snag though, cause it was triggering flags fine earlier, but it appears to have stopped now for no apparent reason ¬_¬
I'm (quite) sure I haven't changed anything.

OK, well I'm pretty sure it's a system bug, so I've reported it on AGN.
They're pretty pointless as an item if you can't trigger flags with them.

Anyway, here is a small 3-screen demo just to show them off.
It's not passworded if you want a look at the scripts or whatever, but I'm not going to write a 'how-to' for setting it up before the flag-triggering bug is fixed, because they aren't very useful otherwise.

Could you place a bombblast lweapon when it explodes? That should activate the triggers. Or, is that what you're already trying to do?

It was working orignally, then it just stopped...

So what happens if Link is hit by an enemy while the Bombchu is going? Does control revert back to Link?

Nah, Link's invincible until the bomb explodes. Joe123 told me he might try to do that, but he said it'd be a lot harder.

Ah, that's a shame- I hope you implement that, because that would make it so more versatile to different puzzles.

Also I'm kind of relieved there is a bug with the bombs. At least now it should get fixed. ..And why is link invincible while controlling a bombchu?? That's gotta be a bug in itself.

It was blaman's idea, if you go read up the thread at AGN.

And Link is invincible cause I'm lazy. I'll change it if it's that painful, but I really didn't think it was personally...

I don't think the link is broken =S it should'nt be.
