Need help where to go next. Looks like I need hammer

 

( I can´t find a way to add a screenshot. I have tried to convert into URL but I only get this message

You need the flippers in order to get the hammer. If you have them, try diving under the mermaid statue in Lost Country (the part accessed from the library)

block puzzle in the Hall of Vision

 

I like quests and games like this, and even like block puzzles, but this particular block puzzle in the Hall of Vision is objectively-poorly designed.

 

First, and this is probably my fault, but I couldn't find the screen with the shield block anywhere. The hint for the location of the shield block is too vague. No matter, I could easily guess the correct position for the shield block inside the Hall of Vision, because I found the location of the other six blocks.

 

Second, there's no indication about whether the seven blocks in the Hall of Vision are supposed to be positioned in absolute or relative screen position, or in an X/Y-type orientation by counting tiles. There's also no indication about whether to use the whole screen in the Hall of Vision, or the whole screen in the corresponding seven cave screens, to determine position - or is only the area outlined by the pillars on the Hall of vision screen relevant?

by tediously superimposing my screencaps of the block location on each cave screen onto my Zelda Player window, I figured out that the positioning is absolute.

 

Maybe I overthought this puzzle, but I bet a lot of people are going to get stuck on this due to the ambiguity of what the player is supposed to do exactly, so I'll post a screencap of the correct solution to this puzzle. I'll delete the link if the quest maker objects, but otherwise, don't look at this screencap if you don't want the solution ruined for you:

This one's a bit of a tough puzzle. The solution involves using the mighty fruit, on the screen indicated by HEREITIS.png, in order to lift a certain deceptive tile and reveal some stairs. FYI, there's at least one other puzzle that use this same mechanic in the quest.

Am I correct in my assumption that the "dog" mentioned in STRENGTH.txt is the chain chomp/bow wow located near the noise pit entrance from novel ruins? If so, do you need a certain number of heart containers in order to "feed" him? I only have 13x heart containers, and that isn't enough, I guess. Is this all a red herring and the hammer is somewhere else completely unrelated to the hint in STRENGTH.txt?

 

Also, there's a possible sequence break and/or continue quirk involving the gleeock boss in noise pit, though pretty unlikely to actually exploit:

If one saves at the savepoint on the screen with the gleeock altar, then retries or continues, you respawn below the altar - skipping the need to lower the hammer peg. You could then get in to the gleeock boss fight and possibly defeat it with sword beams if you find the fairy sword early. Good luck not getting hit by the severed heads of the gleeock or fireballs and losing full health, of course.

It means extreme.

The answer is the game subtitle for the remakes of yakuza. It means extreme in japanese. I found it by googling "it means extreme" in quotations.

I swear that the solution was one of the first things I tried - several times - and it didn't work. Guess I didn't get the magic placement of the item right!

 

I also never would have guessed the solution to K's hint in a million years, so thanks, Deedee.

This is another pretty tough and convoluted puzzle wrapped in a riddle.

First, solve Maddie's (the racoon) riddle and open THE EYE.txt. The execution of the second part is kind of quirky, in that you have to deliver the bonk before you take the necessary action (press A when prompted on screen) to initiate a cutscene. In the cutscene, a certain screen is shown to you. On this screen that was revealed in the cutscene, dive in a very specific spot. You will be warped to the upper tier of the sound library and gain access to the stairs in question.

 

Hopefully that's helpful enough without too much spoiling.

Compare the maps of the above and below ground; Melody can help you with that if you ask her about heart pieces. Consider how they relate, and why there's so much seemingly wasted space leading to the staircase. That's how I figured it out, I didn't know there was a cutscene and everything showing it v.v

I completely forgot about that cutscene, although I saw it by sleeping in the bed in Sound Library. Also, by Deedee's clue, I just found out the maps are miŕrored.

However, I'm stumped on 3 clues. So far I have 8 out of 12 keys.

- What do I need to do on the Palm tree in Woods of Mystery? I even set my subscreen to the same amount of money and health to that of 00.png

- LIBRARY.TXT. Which specific library is it? I don't seem to see anything unusual to perform what the text sasys.

- Esper's Riddle, I don't have a clue as to what the keyword is.

Excited to see how the end will be!

1. goes along with Teacyn's (the round fellow) and K's (the cat) hints. If you step on a tile underneath (south) of the palm tree, your character's doppleganger will appear on the screen. If you talk to him, he will tell you to follow him. What you then need to do is follow a very specific screen-maze path over 14 screens, I believe, until you end up at a familiar screen that now has a Gasha tree. If you don't have spacebar map during your navigating the path, you know you're on the right track. If you make a mistake in direction, you need to start all over. Once you reach the screen with the Gasha tree, hit the bricks underneath (just south) of the tree and you'll be warped to the previously inaccessible southeast corner screen of the main overworld. On that screen, go down the stairs and get your reward. Honestly, the two hints I mentioned were not very helpful for figuring this one out.

2. this one isn't obvious, but keep in mind that there's a library in Village of Romance as well. The hint revealed by library.txt is even harder to solve!

 

I'm not sure about the Esper's riddle, as I'm still working on that one as well. I've solved every other feelie except the Esper, Rat, and Regretful one, though, and also can't wait to see how this quest ends.
