It's wierd!
Sometimes when I try to write something on a paper, when my whole hand is on the paper, the side of my hand (the pinky side) feels really wierd, and then I try to bite or wet my side of my hand, I've had this since I was born I think, but I really hate touching paper! It feels wierd.

What causes this?
Why does the side of my hand feel wierd? I can barely even wright stuff cause of this.

I used to get that problem. I don't know why, but it went away.

I changed the way I write, so that only a portion of my wrist is touching the paper, if even. Seems to have produced a solution to it. You just have to find the right position that doesn't put strain on the wrist.

You've never been diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder, have you? That sounds like exactly the sort of random hangups I've got from it.

True, or it could be (seriously) an allergic reaction to the base chemicals used to produce and/ or recycle the paper. Not allergic as in snuffles and snot; but same idea. Been there, done that, myself. Personally, I have to use the cover of another book/ notebook, shiny side up, as a hand rest if Im writing anything more than a hurried note.

Funny. I have very dry skin on my hands, and I don't think I ever had that problem. I hope I don't get that problem now that it is on my mind. icon_razz.gif But Saffith or apoetalone could be right too.

I experience the same problem quite often.
However, dry hands could be a possibility of the paper texture annoying you. Use lotion (as SP mentioned), and wash your hands more sparingly.

Of course, chance you could be obsessive-compulsive (as I may be as well), as Saffith stated. I also don't like the feeling of my thumb resting against my ring finger as I write. Annoys the hell out of me.

I have the same problem too.

I also find that it's related to dry skin, or if it's been a particularly hot or cold day.

I have a sort of solution - sometimes when I'm writing on paper , I use a small plastic ruler that keep handy for underlining. I simply place my hand on that and write, thus not actually touching the paper. It also helps against smears caused by sweaty hands of mine.

I've noticed that since I've been taking Fish oil (or Omega supplements) I've not been annoyed quite as much as I used to be.
