In your opinion, how expensive should potions be? Sure, every quest is different, but the player him/herself is also different. There are players who may even have trouble in level 1. icon_shrug.gif There are also people who have no trouble at all in Level 8. (Honestly confounding, but whatever. icon_rolleyes.gif )

Based on the relative difficulties of quests, do people want the players to have to work hard for a potion, doing a miniquest for the letter, and / or saving up a lot of money for the potion, which may just end up getting wasted in the end anyway?

How do you handle your potion prices?

I sell them quite cheap actually.
About 50-70 for a blue potion and around 90 for a red one.

Judging by the Potion usage thread few people use potions anyways. However, I think it depends on the quest greatly. If you use Pure to create your quest and don't alter the bush slash combos then Potions should be very expensive. EVERYthing should be very expensive because rupees are almost like water. I can't state enough that my rupees are ALWAYS full.

I sell them about the price of a L2 Shield. That way they are expencive but not too expencive.

P.S. I sell L2 Shields for about 95 ruppies.

Depends mostly on the quest. If you have pots, grass, flowers, fairies, etc. everywhere, the should be very expensive. Else, at lvl 2 shield. About the "letter" *coughcoughmushroomcoughcough* it depends on how you set it up I guess.

EDIT: Hey! This thread gave me an idea! *Goes over to Link Tile Mods* icon_wink.gif

icon_razz.gif Did you get this idea of a topic from my post about how potions are expensive? I would price them form 70-80.

999!!!!!! No, I would say right around 80-100. Sounds fairly reasonable to me.

I'd sell a potion for about 80 rupees.

If the quest had the rule "Enemies Always Return" enabled, It would be easier to make money and therefore the potion should be higher priced.

EDIT:I think a Red Potion should be about 50% more than the Blue one.

The red should be at a high price because it's VERY useful. So around 100-120 is good. icon_razz.gif

I usually find a blue potion at 60 and a red at 100 to fit rather well. icon_wink.gif

Hm. Let's see. Time for a bit of half-arsed Economics.

O = W/O Letter
L = With Letter

And Large Shields go for about 50 rupees for me, if there are lots of like-likes, and about 110 if there aren't.

All I have to say is if you're being realistic...a potion is worth your life...because it gives you another one...

I'd say that without the Letter, a Blue Potion should be about 70, and a Red Potion about 120. With the Letter, Blue Potion=55 and Red Potion= 90.

I typically sell Magic Shields for 125.

In the quest that I abandoned, I sold the blue potion for 80 rupees, and made the player find red potions. I don't use the letter for potions because it's incredibly unimaginative.

Well in Pure the "Letter" is a mushroom. That makes sense.
