What is a goriya, and what does it look like. I need to know! I might put it in my quest.

Goriyas toss boomerangs at you. That's all you need to know. icon_smile.gif And their defense level is pretty good.

Red Goriyas do 1/2 damage when they touch you, while Blue Goriyas do 1 damage by touching. Both do 1 damage with their boomerangs, though.

If you'd like to see a detailed listing of where in the tile editor you can find the graphics for these enemies, try downloading my New BS set and browsing through the "New Enemies" section. Every enemy is labelled with its name and CSet in the righthand column. The appearances vary in different tilesets, but it's a good way to familiarize yourself with them.

Red Goriyas take 3 damage with the WOoden Sword to kill, Blue ones take 5.

No, they are the same size sprite for them. 16x16. Yeah, it's just like the original Zelda, if you've ever played it.

Always time for that, and now with more reason, yeah?

Also, did you know they tendo to throw those boomerangs beside Link? I always get hit this way. They're very annoying to kill without a boomerang.

They're on tile page 14, betweeen octoroks and moblins. First three rows are red, last three rows are blue.

I know you're using the new enemy tiles because of the bat in your shot.

A Goriya is best used in dungeon rooms that guard vital passages, especially to items and the Boss. For example, in any typical Quest, suppose you have Red Goriyas dotting your first dungeon. Suppose you had a special item you needed to have to find the Boss. Well, put a Blue Goriya somewhere in a dead-end as the only foe in the room... Beat him, he drops the Bow or the Boomerang or the Candle... or whatever the treasure is... This is true with ANY enemy. You have a lot of red enemies, it's interesting to have a blue version of that enemy guard things.

The above statement is all my opinion, though... Quests are unique by the fact that everyone has a different style. But for the record, using a Blue Goriya as a typical enemy would rank around Dungeon 3 or 4. In most Quests, the player has obtained the White Sword by then.

A red goryia is fairly easy to beat. A room full of blue goryia's on the 1st dungeon with the wooden sword, no boomerang and fireball shooting statues will make you pull your hair out of your head.
