Finished a pretty good chunk of my over world, Still got a ways to go but its coming along nicely.

Was getting groceries today and had the most annoying idea ever, although I don't think there is a WAV sound file of it. Anyone know that annoying green face from Cybermorph on the Atari Jaguar? The one that says "Where did you learn to fly?" every time you crash into something. Have her be a BS Patra with mini faces being the kids and have her set to spam "Where did you learn to fly?" the entire time she's on screen.

 

Had another epic fail today playing Randomizer again. So I was doing one of the dungeons and went to F6 warp to the start, right? I hit F7 instead and because of how fast I press F6 + Enter, I was booted to the title screen immediately. Half an hour down the drain, all because I hit F7 instead of F6. Needless to say, I was pretty pissed, but at least I know where some of the items are so I can skip directly to 3-2 and get the Stepladder instead of running around aimlessly.

 

Anyway, if I get the time, I'll probably give some expos a try. Originally I wasn't going to, but I think I can find time to at least attempt each one and at the very least give some feedback, whether positive, negative or neutral. I MIGHT do a full recorded playthrough of my own demo, but whether or not I upload it to YouTube or even do it for that matter is debatable. Even if I did, I plan to hold off uploading until 2-3 weeks from now. That and I don't know if I should make one giant movie (probably 3-4 hours long), approx 30-45 minute long parts or just do it in smaller parts.

 

One last thing I was thinking about and I don't know if this can be done or not in ZQuest, but can you give Vires a halt rate to make them shoot say fireballs at you while still behaving the same as a normal Vire otherwise? Or would that only work with a standard walking enemy?

Testing out the minor changes to Randomizer Modern.  Slight increase in difficulty only.  Interesting with the two whistles.  Rather odd test run currently with gold ring, but only a wooden sword.  Been spamming the wand to no end.

 

Gotta get back to recording Lost Isle at some point.

Well Pix, looks like you're reliving your one run you had the Wooden Sword most of the game. My run is more rich in hearts at this time; 8 dungeons complete and I have 10 hearts and a more mixed bag of items. Of course, I'm having the usual luck with my defense being that of a piece of paper. This time though, at least I'm getting more hearts to work with. Just seems a bit weird I'm constantly getting randomizer seeds in which I get defense upgrades late. Also got the Double Bow. Hope that works against Gohmas since I lack the normal bow (although I have the Wooden Arrow). One big help early was getting Blue Remote Bombs. Hopefully I figure out the purpose of the gold whistle.

Picked up Veran's Awakening again and continued building the first town. Hopefully, I will finish it before the Quester's block sets in again. Also took a look at the Ice Golem script. Looks like something, with a little adaptation, will become a regular enemy appearing in a couple of levels.

Update on the Vire like enemy that shoots fireball plan. It doesn't quite work how I thought it would. The Vire moves like normal, but he shoots a fireball at me every tile he moves. I was hoping for normal Vire movement and only shooting when he halts. Oh well. From what I remember, if I make a Pols Voice behave like that, it will fire at the peak of its jump. Well, at least I have another plan. Don't know how I'll do it, but for the upgraded enemy, I'm debating between the following (the weaker version has 1 shot fast shot type):

 

-3 shots (fast)

-3 shots

-8 shots

 

Thing is with the 8-way shot, I couldn't have more than maybe 2-3 maximum because otherwise there would be too many fireballs on screen. Also, having a large number spam 3-way shots would be problematic too because if I have 5 or more, hello mandatory damage and hello bullet hell. Then again, if I gave them breath shot and had like 5+ in a room, I think I would have people looking for me wanting to strangle me. I'm not making that mistake again of making rooms Touhou shooting galleries, minus the 1 pixel sized hitbox.

 

EDIT: I might keep that idea for a level 3 version of that enemy.

I'm finalizing my story just a little more - the choas that regined which was told in Hyrule Origin stories will play a big role in my quest. Why did the Goddesses create an Earth, with law with people to uphold it? I believed they sealed it within, noticed in Lorule ever since chaos resigned the Earth split apart?

Otherwise, been playing the ZC Expo Demos.

Trying to get a Wii U Pro Controller to work with ZC using a MayFlash wireless adapter.  I can get a regular Wii Classic Controller to work with the D-pad, but with the Wii U Pro Controller, movement seems to work only with the left analog stick.  Can't seem to get the D-pad or Home button to work.  Still trying to figure out how to change it such that I can use the D-pad instead for movement, which is what I would be more used to.

 

Would be nice to figure this out so that I can play with the controller being wireless.

Got all the expo demos down, and I'm now ready to get back into ZC. To start, I've done a little bit more progress on Level 2 of my quest.

More expo fails for me. I had to roll out yet ANOTHER bug fix. I feel like crap having to patch all the time, but on the other hand, at least I'm showing accountability and trying to fix any bugs with the game. I still seem to be doing okay despite a couple errors here and there I've been fixing.

 

EDIT: In other news, I got an idea for what I'm going to do after I finish Adam's Quest II. What is it, you ask? It's a secret to everybody. Nuff said.

I just finished with the intro area of my quest, or at least with the path you should go. I also made some sprites for the main area, made some enemy sprites from scratch, and made a sword shop.

Worked some more on the overworld. I think my skills are improving. I definitely am more comfortable with scripting.

Watched Eppy play my quest and found another bug that needs fixed. Right when I thought I had squashed them all, too...

 

Also, re-wrote my Custom Boss Kit, and the basic version of it is ready for public use! It doesn't do different sized enemies than normal, but it should work for a large number of custom enemies that aren't possible with the normal Enemy Editor alone, and it aims to be so simple that anybody who can load a single script into a quest can use it easily. I put the script in the topic in the Scripting Discussion board, so people can try it out, if anybody's willing to play with it and come up with some neat stuff.

 

(Shameless self-plug finished... Really, I'd like the help in testing this.)

Yeah, I tend to notice that too. I think something is perfect then bam! This string is broken, you forgot that under combo, etc. It's just weird that no matter how many times I play test something, SOMEBODY finds a bug or two.

 

Anyway, finally got myself a Twitch account so I can be involved with the chat instead of simply watching from the sidelines.
