How will you do the no poison/lightning route? At least one of the two spells are required to kill some enemies locking a door in poison corridor.

Still say you should do a speed run or low percent run. And actually, a couple of these could be good characters for an evasion run. But I digress. Cast my vote. This should be funny.
I will after I play as all 9 of the base characters.

I'd also recommend trying some challenge modes while playing as normal characters. It'd mix up your runs just a bit so you don't get stale from playing the same scenarios over and over. And you might finally get a name that isn't Caelan that way! Seriously, leaving challenge modes until you play secret characters will only serve to limit the names you have, and by extension the characters you're able to pick from. Since you're playing so many characters anyway, wouldn't it make sense to at least learn some more names while you're at it so you have options when you're ready to try secret characters? By this point, you know the game well enough to do a low-percent on normal at the very least.

Oh nono, I totally wasn't saving the post game characters for the special runs. ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh no no noooooooo.
I'd probably replay them as some of the base characters.
Probably the main reason I've been hesitant to play on of the special modes with a character I haven'y played before is that I like to get a feel for what their bonuses are when you get enough coins. I can take that prior knowledge into Speedrun. In Pacifist, it seems useless.
I guess I could do a low% run soon.

I see the reasoning, but I guess I feel like the uniqueness of the challenge modes is more significant than the uniqueness of character upgrades. I'm not about to tell you how to have fun, of course, play how you want. But I am a bit surprised. My expectation is for players to do probably a maximum of 3 normal runs, then move on to special or challenge runs, especially since the character names are rewarded in a sort of progression based on playing special characters or challenges. (Although to be honest I expect most players to only play through once). I have trouble understanding how you don't get bored.
Incidentally, I thought I'd clarify the terminology I use here to avoid any future confusion. It's kind of arbitrary, but here it is:
Normal Run - Any run using one of the nine main characters with full stories.
Special Run - A run with any of the secret characters. Characters here start with signature items, and the plot barriers are removed, meaning there's a lot of sequence breaking potential depending on what item you start with.
Challenge Run - A run with any of the challenges activated from the options menu. "Speed Challenge," etc.

I wouldn't say that. You still have to kill bosses, so the upgrades and useful there. There's also some upgrades like petal shield and enhance that are still really useful. And of course, they're all nice for evasion. Even for speedrun, with advance knowledge of item locations, you could probably pick up over 50 coins.Probably the main reason I've been hesitant to play on of the special modes with a character I haven'y played before is that I like to get a feel for what their bonuses are when you get enough coins. I can take that prior knowledge into Speedrun. In Pacifist, it seems useless.

Ask Evan, he's even more insane than me.
I'm kind of a weird case. I can play the same thing a lot and still have fun. I played through Metroid Fusion 30+ times in Highschool for fun o__o. This is also why I'm spacing it out throughout the entire year, so I'm not playing too much all in a bunch. The only reason a few runs are bunched together right now os BotW and Pokemon Reborn sorta delayed Run 5 until later than I initially planned.
You gotta remember, I can spend hours grinding without being phased.
And yeah, I mixed up Challenge and Special runs.

So I have recently been informed that a bunch f you have been talking crap about me. This is really unacceptable and I find this really offensive. I know the Big Brother game inside and out and I know that this is a common practice, but when you get caught, oh boy. BUT, I keep my promises and I will continue to keep up on my uploading and old video uploading.
Now, what old series should I give you guys as a way of showing how much I hate you back. Oh I know, I'll give out some Sonic Boom.
Oh, but that doesn't really sound unpleasant enough. How about I throw some Metroid: Other M right after it. That will learn you.
In all seriousness, I'm joking about all of that stuff above. You aren't terrible people. I am, however, not joking about the Other M and Sonic Boom. That will be the next two old video series you will start to see alongside my current stuff.
But hey, if you don't manage to lose almost all of your brain cells from those, I'll try to get my Skyward Sword and Metroid Prime Trilogy stuff up next.
And yes, that unlisted list up there is out of date. I'll add our 2 greatly unwanted guests to it later today if you REALLY want to start losing your brain cells in advance.
