Oughta set my sights on 5, 6, and 7 soon, and try to find 8 somewhere. I'd emulate 8 but I've never gotten PS1 emulation to work for whatever reason.

My biggest gripe with the game is rather odd. You see, partway through the game, you start receiving missions where you get to fly around an area. The physics for flying are amazing! You can almost feel the wind pressing against you when you turn, and it's the best flight system I've ever seen in a video game (I've played StarFox 64, the flight in this is still miles better). Now, without spoiling too much of the game, the final area has a flight segment, but modified to allow you to shoot weapons while flying. You would think all they would have to do is use the same flight engine they use for the sidequest areas, right? No, this one has none of the awesome flight mechanics and you feel like you're using the control pad to move a mouse cursor around the screen.
Honestly, you could make an amazing game out of the flight system alone. There was a TON of potential here, but none of it was used very well. The game was fun, I'll admit. It just could have done SO much better. If you've ever been a fan of games like "Tail Concerto", you'll like this game. It's basically an unofficial sequel of sorts by the same company.

I just finished playing a DS game called "Solatorobo: Red the Hunter". Fairly good game, lots of sidequests to do. The battle system relies entirely on lifting up enemies and throwing them at each other a la Mischief Makers, but in 3D.

I picked this up not long ago at an EB sale for only $15 AUD and begun playing it (I think I played up to before what I think is the first boss). I like my first impressions in regards to the graphical style and battle system, but I feel that the game could do better in the sound quality. Some of music and especially the sound effects have this 'whistling' aftertone that really grates my ears, like the Sonic Rush games (which I didn't mind that much, to be honest) but worse. I can't form a proper opinion on it yet because I still am right near the beginning of the game. The anime style, particularly in the cutscenes, is also a nice touch. Red is also the first anthro protagonist in a game that I've played in a long time that featured anthro characters that I haven't seen fans ruin with... weird and obnoxious art (they probably have somewhere, but I haven't seen it yet probably because because I have my content filters on)
Edit: It didn't occur to me that the throwing enemies fighting style is reminiscent of Mischief Makers, another game that I liked.

The title screen is actually an indicator of how much more you have to do. Finish the game, and the title screen turns to sunset. Finish the plot-relevant points in the post-game, and it turns to night.

I guess for the mean time I should try looking around for Tail Concerto. I've Heard that it was a pretty good game.
And also I've finished Infinite Undiscovery, And started up The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker... All the talk of a HD version made me do this.

Also been itching to play Megaman 6 for the umpteenth time. Guess I should hook up the NES.

Oh yeah, I've also got Pokemon Colosseum to finish (for PokeSav import purposes), Metroid Prime 1+2, and Punch-Out!
After that, I can work on some stuff on my PC, like Recettear, Street Fighter X MegaMan, the Touhou series, and various ZC and RPG Maker games...
You know, on second thought, my backlog is a bit longer than I thought. On the bright side, by the time I finish catching up, all of the "new" consoles should be fairly cheap by then.

Did, at least, compared to 4 and 5. The first three have superior music still, but 6 was pleasingly good, I'll talk more on that in the music thread. The game itself was much better, too. Good items, stage design, bosses... Was really tired of going through two castles though. Still, I dunno if I like this or 4 better, and I should probably replay 3 just to make sure whether or not it's better than both and I'm just forgetting, but pretty good game.
That finished out the NES Megaman games. Next is Megaman 7 and the X series... but I can't emulate PS1 games so I'll probably have to get the rest and Megaman 8 on my PS1, might have to legitimately acquire Megaman 9 and 10 as well. Then I'll have to get a PS2 so I can get X7 and X8... Not to mention Legends, Star Force, Battle Network... wow I got a ways to go.

6 was meh to me, it's right there with MM5 as my least favorite in the classic series. The music is great though, I'll admit. Can't wait to see your opinion of 7. I know alot of people hate that game, but personally, I adore it death. I think it has the best soundtrack in the entire classic series (either that or 9). Freeze Man's music is just a masterpiece, along with many other tracks in that game.
EDIT: Whoops, double post. >.<
