So I beat the main 8 worlds in Super Mario 3D Land not terribly long ago. Now playing Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacies on the 3DS. Despite the name implying it has some sort of tie in with Assault Horizon (which, based on everything I've read and seen, I won't be touching with a ten foot pole. That's a whole other story though.) it's actually a remake of Ace Combat 2. Kinda wondering what the original is like (I do own it, but my PS2 hates trying to play PS1 games, and the PS3 is with my brother in his room >_>)

It's fun, but I feel they dumbed some of the stuff down. Like, dodging missiles is a total joke if your timing is good. (You just have to hit either right and Y or left and Y.) But every time I try to dodge missiles without this odd feature, I always get blown up, so I'm guessing they expect you to use this thing. O_o The other odd feature is that once you follow an enemy fighter for long enough, you'll be able to hit Y to just sweep in behind them and blow them up fairly easily. Admittedly, it is harder to pull off as if you start to lose your target, the the gauge allowing you to do this drops and you lose your chance at it. But still...It feels like the game kinda got dumbed down a bit. ):

EDIT: Finished on hard mode. I loved all the little references to the other Ace Combat games. Like how Beast 1 talks about the Round Table (B7R) from Zero, and how he's allegedly from Belka. (Also throwing back to Zero) Or the little music bits from the other games. And that last mission. Once I realized what I was going up again, I freaked out both in fear and joy. Luckily, the thing wasn't fully decked out. But it was a fuuun fight. icon_biggrin.gif Though I better be able to unlock that thing, with the laser and all. ):<

Going to play through again on Ace to go through the alternate paths I didn't do my first time through.

So in all, aside from the things I mentioned above (Which kinda grew on me by the end) I really like this game. ._.

Ocarina of Time 3D. Master Quest, 6-heart run. Only cause I accidentally grabbed the first Heart Container, and I didn't want to restart, and four would be weird icon_deformed.gif

Getting further in Arkham City now, and really really loving it. It's awesome in nearly every way, it flows so smoothly, controls and fighting are great, gadgets are awesome, and ya know what else? It took probably the one terrible area in Arkham Asylum, the bosses, and made them actually really really fun. So Arkham City is totally the better game so far, with the total package, assuming the final boss battle is good. Asylum's wasn't. The only thing I miss is that really creepy atmosphere Asylum had and drilled into you, but that's alright; City is still a phenomenal experience.

Also I finally started Megaman 2 on the side and killed the 8 Robot Masters; will do the Wily stages tomorrow. I'm not sure I care for this entry all that much, honestly. 3 still seems like the best one to me.

Also beat Megaman 2. Dunno if I mentioned it but I started Layton and the Curious Village about a week ago... I should probably get back to that soon. icon_heh.gif

So I beat Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy (which I'm calling Ace Combat 3D from now on because its usual name is a freaking mouthful. >_>) on Ace with the Hellcat. The only mission I didn't use it was on the 2nd last one, which I want to believe is impossible with it, since the thing isn't fast enough to catch up with the target. Kinda started doing the extra missions, but I'm not sure I'm going to bother much with them. One that is fun is where more and more fighters keep coming in and you have to keep going. I managed to get something around 50 of them down on my first try. icon_biggrin.gif

But now I'm playing Cave Story 3D, which I managed to get for a good deal at a hock shop. Not very far in though. >_>

I just finished No More Heroes 2, and so I put the family Wii back in the living room so the kids can play it whenever they want again.

Quick question for anybody who's beaten it before. When you play Deathmatch mode, do you still have the bloody death scenes for the bosses? My siblings aren't bothered by language at all (thanks to my sister), and the only thing that kept me from letting them play the game was all the blood. The thing is, I noticed that the boss fights don't have as much, if any blood and gore, so I was starting to think that as long as they're playing that part of the game (or if I'm watching them closely so I know they're only opening the side-job minigames), it should be fine. I wanted to check the post-battle bits to see if it was still as bad as in the main game, but apparently they bump up the difficulty. I couldn't beat any of them to check.

I'm thinking it should still be fine because if I can't beat any of them, then there shouldn't be an issue about the post-battle stuff, but my little siblings have surprised me before.

Hey Ventus, have you played MagnaCarta 2 yet on the 360? I was lucky enough to snag a copy before it becomes a rare game.

No not yet, Looking at some videos of it and it looks pretty good. I see it all the time at gamestop.
So I'm most likely going to go pick it up at some point. Hopefully before the game is no longer able to be found.

Bought a Nintendo 3DS for $119 (AUD), a Circle Pad Pro for $10 and Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS for $40 and all of it is brand new from Dicksmith.

Guess I'll be playing that soon...

Edit: I also got Mario Kart 7 for $40!

Played the Demo for Fire Emblem: Awakening. From what I have played, I have to say Intelligent Systems Really went all out in the production value. It DEMOLISHES Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon. No more sprites with moving mouths anymore. Instead we have real 3D cutscenes. The use of the 3D is fantastic. I loved the detailing they put in the maps. This made me even more excited to pick up on 2/4.

They put a demo out? Well...I guess I know what I'm grabbing next, lol. It seemed nifty from what little I saw, but I'm not entirely sure I'll be able to get it at launch. Regardless, I'll have to give the demo a shot.

Still playing Cave Story 3D. Just finished up the Sand Zone. Those character models look....pretty bad. I think I'll just stick to playing with the classic sprites, lol.

Also been kinda replaying Ace Combat Zero on the PS2. I realized my good save was on my old PS3 which died, so I have some catching up to do. (Mostly just lacking the Falken, which I almost have anyway and unlocking the bonus mission) I'm fairly late into the game and I've done the game on the Soldier and Mercenary paths, leaving me Knight. Then the laser plane will be mine. (:<

EDIT: Up to the plantation in Cave Story. Got the Prinny Cap, and noticed something...kinda neat.

Take a look at this.

The upper left shot is in the area of Arthur's grave. The bottom right is the area where you get the Prinny Cap. In the background, it looks like another area, almost. Well, (and this should be obvious from the arrows. icon_razz.gif) these two rooms are actually across from each other. Albeit, the pictures aren't the best and is probably better viewed in game yourself, I think it gets the idea across.

I dunno. Something nifty. It's incredibly trivial and crap, but I thought it was kinda cool. ):
