Not sure about myself, but when I had to have teeth removed twice, they gave me an IV to put me out. The funny thing was that I remembered both times I was just causally talking to the dentist's nurse then the next thing I knew, I was being walked out by my father to help me with getting into his truck. The first time I had an IV used to knock me out was when I was 16 and I remember it having such a strong effect on me I felt like I was carrying 300 pounds on my back and had gone 3 days without sleep. The second time was this past Spring (age 23). Although I was still knocked out, I didn't feel as weak and tired after I woke up. I also seemed more calm and was put to sleep easier.
Slight topic change; how do you guys and gals fair against needles? I remember when I was a little boy, I was petrified of them. My worst memory of a syringe was when I was 7 getting shots I needed for 2nd grade. When I got the shot taken, I screamed loud enough the entire doctor's office could hear me. Then when I had to get shots when I was 11, I had to get two different ones. One being four needles in the shape of a 4 on a standard die and one regular needle. Pretty much from then I got over my fear of needles and now I'm pretty comfortable getting shots. Heck, when I got a physical last year, I barely got a sentence out before it was over and all it felt like was someone tugging on one of the hairs on my arm.
