It's crazy how changing a few aspects can dramatically improve the look of this character.
Yep, Nintendo indeed got a lot of inspiration from Journey.

Totally understand your cynicism but Nintendo doesn't really have a history (as far as I can recall) of being shady like some of the others have been. Granted there's a first time for everything though.
It's the common practice, but I can't prove it. We'll see when the game is out though, but if you take a look at something like the resolution it becomes obvious that this gameplay is not running on a Wii U.

They seem to be changing up the Zelda series alot. I can't tell if I'll like the Skyrim influence with the open world yet, but the graphics look really fine!
(Need more information on the game!!) xD

Well, to be fair, I don't think they've hyped this announcement up nearly as much as the community has.
They'll show off more when they're ready to, I'm sure. I'd rather not have them show a bunch of "this may happen" kind of footage.

I'm pretty much over the hype train for pretty much any game. At least I know a new Zelda is coming. Besides not being hyped for a game can be a good thing. When this game is released, approaching the game blindly adds more thrill and surprise to me and I tend to enjoy it more that way. And plus, you are not at risk of being overly hyped for a disappointing experience. Yes I'm looking at you Metroid Other M.

I don't know, they kept mentioning seamless open world countless times and that this game will go beyond what was initially expected. Then they said "We'll say more at E3 2014" and they pretty much repeat what they said (albeit in a more detailed length and trailer) which was kinda disappointing. But I'm happy we got something nonetheless.Well, to be fair, I don't think they've hyped this announcement up nearly as much as the community has.

I know they said it in a couple of Nintendo Directs, and they did say it when directly asked about it, but I wouldn't say they super hyped it. Just kept people aware of it, rather.

This thread does more for your personal level of hype than Nintendo has up to this point. I'm sure they don't mind. ![]()

I guess I should rephrase since I sentenced my previous post horribly, I meant I kinda expected a longer trailer with a discussion on how the gameplay works with the gamepad and whatnot. I wasn't expecting anything long, but at least more information beyond what we already knew to an extent. And true, there is some notable stuff in the trailer. I guess it's the fact that other games were showcased longer that left a unneeded distasteful thought in my head. Believe me, I am keeping my hype and expectations minimal at best because I kinda got disappointed over Skyward Sword's reveal since I was expecting something more along the lines of Twilight Princess.I know they said it in a couple of Nintendo Directs, and they did say it when directly asked about it, but I wouldn't say they super hyped it. Oh, fair enough. I do think they'll be devoting at least one future Nintendo Direct to Zelda U though. I'm excited to see what that brings. ![]()

That's actually exactly why I loved Nintendo's approach this year. How much organic hype was developed just from small teases and releases to their YouTube channel? Their conference dangled a carrot, and it's placed so much attention on them for the rest of E3. Brilliant marketing.

That's what I meant when I said I thought the trailer was shit. It was a boring, disappointing trailer, but the game still looks very interesting.

So to be fair, Twilight Princess's initial reveal had a lot of stuff that wasn't actually included in the game, and a lot of fans got mad about that. Nintendo's playing it safe now and not showing off stuff before it's ready, lest they have a TP repeat. Also, keep in mind SS's original reveal was just a single image of Link and Fi. So in comparison, a cinematic trailer showing the engine and art style is a step up.Believe me, I am keeping my hype and expectations minimal at best because I kinda got disappointed over Skyward Sword's reveal since I was expecting something more along the lines of Twilight Princess.

Yeah, I knew about the early Twilight Princess trailers, and that was kinda a poor move of Nintendo, so I can understand that. But however, what I meant was, I wanted to see them at least talk more about gameplay elements (the controls, that is) in addition to how exploration worked, I didn't want to just see more footage of the game itself, just because I wanted to see more. Oh well.So to be fair, Twilight Princess's initial reveal had a lot of stuff that wasn't actually included in the game, and a lot of fans got mad about that.
