Also, I'm not sure what to think about the possibility of the Kahuna replacing gym leaders. It's definitely a curious change but I hope I won't be disappointed by the lack of traditional gym leaders.
I'm quite the opposite: I'm nothing but excited for this game finally ditching the traditional gym setup, even if it's just for this one set of games. But I've been hoping for a true shakeup in the series for a while now, so I'll take anything resembling one I can get. ![]()

Why is Alola Exeggutor Dragon type.
Genuine question. He literally became a taller palm tree, and that apparently qualifies as a Dragon.

The same reason Lance thinks Gyarados,Charizard and Aerodactyl are Dragons, lol.

... Probably because they look like dragons.

But they AREN'T Dragons.
A Platypus looks like a bird, but it's not a bird, it's a mammal~
Lance needs to check his Pokerdex, lol.

Hey, he had 3 Dragonites in Gen 2, so he was halfway there, lol.

The lack of gym leaders reminds me of the Orange Islands arc in the anime. I'm looking forward to it. Though, Exeggutor without the Harvest ability is almost useless to me... It's one of the reasons I mained Tropius in tournaments. Reusing Sitrus berries through the use of Substitute and Protect was just evil.

I was so overwhelmed with the recent trailer. They showed off a lot of new features regarding Z-moves, trials, Pokemon calling for help, etc. The Alola forms were also kind of confusing. Every other Generation of Pokemon (Gen 2, 4, and 6), we have gotten a form of 'evolution' for older Pokemon, but these Alola forms! Is there a way to change them back to their original form? Does this change their stats? Can they used for future generations? I am still trying to process all of this.

Same. But I do like that they are trying a lot of different things for this game. Makes me want to get it even more! xD

I'm really hoping they ditch the gym leaders setup. I'm sick and tired of that shit.
Also, i'm pretty sure the Alolan forms are separate from the regular forms. As in, they are separate pokemon. This also means they can improve some of the really lame Gen 1 pokemon designs like the Voltorb line and Grimer line. Like, do some creative with it instead of a just being a lazy as hell pokeball with a face and just a clump of shit.
Last, Alolan Exeguttor made me laugh for a while because how ridiculous it looks. At least it's funny now instead of just being lame.
