LP 112: Link's Awakening DX Part 1

Welcome to my 112nd LP as I play The Legend of Zelda - Link's Awakening DX, a Gameboy Colour game which takes place in the island of Koholint. Link was sailing on his boat where he crashed into the Tornobo Shores. There, Marin found him and took him and home, and after that point, Link's adventure to wake the Wind Fish began.

 

In this part, I get the starting sword and head towards the Mysterious Woods to find the Tail Key, needed to get into Level 1.

Link's Awakening DX Part 2

 

In this part, I go through Level 1, the Tail Cave where we come across the horrible Three-of-a-kind enemies which takes forever to kill...

Link's Awakening DX Part 3

 

In this part, I go through Level 2, Bottle Grotto. All in all, this is a pretty straightforward dungeon with rooms you can skip which makes things a little quicker. The boss is definitely irritating though... "You can't hurt me as long as I have my bottle!"

Link's Awakening DX Part 4

 

In this part, I mostly just explore Ukuku Prairie and get a bit lost as I forget how to get into Kanalet Castle. I still manage to get some things covered and make a bit of progress.

Link's Awakening DX Part 5

 

I work my way through Kanalet Castle as I collect all 5 golden leaves needed to be taken to Richard. I then go to Level 3.

There will be no streams for the next 2 weeks or so. This weekend I have family from Switzerland coming over and next weekend I'm going to a christening for the day. Streams will hopefully resume on 18th April 2015.

 

In the meantime though, Link's Awakening DX is still going on so expect frequent updates on the Let's Play here.

Link's Awakening DX Part 6

 

I go through Level 3, Key Cavern. This dungeon overall isn't really that difficult. Probably the biggest threats would be those green bob-ombs but besides that, there's nothing too threatening about this place.

I head over to the Animal Village as I try and find a way into Yarna Desert. Things don't end too well lol

I finally find out what to do and head over to meet Marin on the Tornobo Shores. I then head to Yarna Desert and find the Slime Key, which is needed to get into Level 4.

Link's Awakening DX Part 9

 

I go through Level 4, Angler's Tunnel. This dungeon isn't really that difficult IMO and I get a very helpful item which will be very helpful later on.

The part in which a ghost follows us throughout Koholint. Apparently I could have a picture taken right next to the grave but I guess I didn't realise Either way, I make steady progress into Level 5, the Catfish's Maw.

I head through Level 5, Catfish's Maw, and this is definitely one of the more interesting and confusing dungeons in the game. I spend the whole episode here, but make some progress.

I'm still going through Catfish's Maw, but eventually finish the dungeon. The boss seems to be easier than the mini boss rematches throughout the fight lol.

It's not the best thing ever obviously and it's not that professional either, but I had a blast making it and that's all that matters
