So, just to be clear, go back to the room with a boss-lock door and go east one screen.  Beat those enemies to get the key.

I guess that can be easily missed.   It's a room with an east-south path separate from the main room.  If you enter that room and there's unreachable enemies (because they're in the east-south path and you're not), use arrows to hit them.

Weird thing is, I apparently got that key already...

Edit: I think I know what happened. I picked up that key and then left the dungeon because I thought I couldn't progress. I think I accidently used that key in another dungeon >_> Thankfully I know what dungeon that was so I'm gonna head back to it and pick up the key I missed.

Edit 2: Actually I can't seem to find the key I missed in another dungeon... is there a key shop anywhere for screw ups like this?

AirLuigi is right, but you might have an easier time finding my house in the western side of the Underworld first.  Once you find me, choose the 100-rupee option and the first thing I talk about is the location of the Master Sword and the secret path to getting there.   ;)

Unfortunately not.  I was advised not to have a key shop because it could be game-breaking. :sorry:  However, if you absolutely can't find a key you missed, there's always the Magic Key in level 9. :heh:

Would you like me to send you a list of dungeon rooms that have keys? Or do you just wanna' get the Magic Key instead?

I'll go ahead and get the Magic Key then. My only question now is: do I need the Wand to access Level 9 or to get to the Magic Key in Level 9?

You mainly only need bombs to access level 9.

However, to get the Magic Key, I posted the required items a while ago in post #34:

... You'll need the magic sword, boots, and wand to get it, though.

Of course, this is beside any items you need to get through the dungeon up to the point where you enter the basement. Not to mention you also have to pay Ventus either your money or your life, so make sure you have a couple hundred rupees (or close to it) when you go after the Magic Key.  Good luck! :)

Any hints on where the Goddess items are located?  I think I need those for the boss battle in the Ruins.

Sounds like you didn't find Din's Fire yet.  That's on the overworld.

Din's Fire location:

The other two are in the Magic Key maze in the Underworld, which is located in the White Woods.

Farore's Wind & Nayru's Love:

I wouldn't say that you'd need them; they're not required for any puzzles in the Ancient Ruins.  Then again, I haven't ever really made good use of them in battle all the times I've played through this. :heh:  I probably could've used Nayru's Love when battling the boss; Farore's Wind might come in handy if you have to leave to get something; and Din's Fire might be handy to use against hordes of enemies.

I had to quit playing this quest because of the 2.5 bug in the key maze. Any chance of fixing this?

Spelunker, I'm sorry you're having such trouble. :sorry:  One thing I can say about this is that it was really tricky to find a way to make this room in version 2.10.  This worked for me when I played through it in 2.50; however, now that I think about it, there was a problem with the animations, but that was all; the block still removed for me to go east.

Can you give me some screenshots?  It would also help if you opened the screenshot in Paint or something and drew lines/arrows to show me where you walked on the screen when this happened.  (If you don't know how to take screenshots and/or post them here, let me know.)

This worked for me when I played through it in 2.50, and I haven't been able to see what's wrong when I look at it in ZQuest.  :(   Anything you can give me to help figure out the problem would be greatly appreciated.

Here are screenshots of before and after I paid the fee. I've tried walking everywhere and pushing every block, no luck.

I'm still stuck in Level 5. I got the item from the question mark room, and the only two passages I've found go to an isle with a heart piece, and the other goes to the path leading to the boss room. Do I need super bombs to access another dungeon, as the guy said, or is the way in the dungeon?

This is where I have been:

I'm having the same problem. I can't run 2.10 on my pc.

Is there any way this can be fixed to run on 2.5?

If not, I guess I can't finish this quest.

   ...  Whack me on the head, please.  :whap:  ... Thank you.

I finally found the problem.  Turns out that when I was playtesting, I found out that my animation combo had the wrong block sprite.  Sooo what did I do to fix it?  Put a different combo with the right sprite on it!  Whack me again, please.  :whap:  ... Thank you. (Ouch! Okay, I'll stop now.  I'm just feeling like a complete idiot right now...)

I'm so, so sorry that me and my idiocy has greatly inconvenienced you and anyone else trying to get through this. :sorry:  I've fixed the problem by pasting the correct sprite over the animation sprites and placed the animation combo in the secret combos.  To make it up to you guys, I'm posting an update tonight, even though it's late and I have school tomorrow.

Just the wand, by itself, won't work.  Do you have the Magic Book to cast wand fire?

Go to room 07 (the upper-right corner of the map) and beat the wizzrobes; they'll drop the boss key.  After getting the boss key, go south.  The boss isn't in that room, but a passageway leading to the room next to the boss.  (Don't be fooled by the boss-lock door.  If you don't hear the boss roar, it's not the boss.)

Oh, and BTW, you missed the compass in the room immediately to the east of the entrance; beat the enemies there to get it. ;)

Also, FYI, there is a man in the eye and something great in the mouth of the snake on the map (if you haven't found them already). ;)
