Their main fighting franchise Dead or Alive is a joke.
I like their Ninja Gaiden Sigma games though.

Let's analyze a crucial detail:
Metroid co-creator Yoshio Sakamoto directed and wrote Other M, so he's just as responsible for much of Other M's garbage as Team Ninja is. Maybe more.
Eiji Aonuma, who's been with the series since Ocarina of Time and spearheaded beloved games like Majora's Mask, The Wind Waker, and A Link Between Worlds, the latter being the most recent Zelda game, is supervising this one. Okay, sure, supervising is a far less hands-on role than directing, but there was only one Team Ninja director on Other M, and he doesn't develop Dynasty Warriors games. That, and apparently they've had their hands in Dynasty Warriors games for a while, but still, I think we have a lot less to worry about.
Also again, it's just a spinoff. I'd only be worried if this were a main series Zelda game.
Oh, and I guess Impa is playable after all.

Soooo~, can we all agree that Link looks fucking gorgeous in this game??

Team Ninja is all about big boobs, over the top action cutscenes, and some of the most awkward gameplay in gaming.
Their main fighting franchise Dead or Alive is a joke.
I like their Ninja Gaiden Sigma games though.
Y'know, Zelda has had its share of boobs, too. Y'know, like the Great Fairies from OoT/MM, Impa in OoT, Telma in TP, Veran's official artwork... Just saying, no one's really blameless on that front. Who isn't about big boobs these days? ![]()

Lest we forget Twilight Princess' Great Fairy as well...

From my understanding, Sakamoto was the root cause of almost everything that was bad in Other M (pretty much the main one being the plot and characters). The gameplay, which I believe was mostly Team Ninja's doing, was okay. Not phenomenal, but certainly not as bad as the story.

The difference is that Zelda does not focus its entire marketing campaign on jiggle physics. Nor do they release spinoff-games in which the main goal is to take naughty photos of said jiggle physics in action. ![]()

Eh, I don't know, the gameplay in Other M really sucked too. It was nothing even similar to the other Metroid games. I'd go into detail, but we've heard it all thousands of times by now. The only positive thing that came out of Other M I would say were those pickups that made your beam charge faster. Everything else can go rot in an abyss.
Anyway to stay more on topic. This game still doesn't look like anything I'd be interested in. So I'll still be passing. I really don't like the way Link looks either. He looks a bit too feminine.

So despite some rather strange sexualization of one particular character in the screenshots, this looks just as awesome as I imaged it to be.
Link's outfit in the beginning of the article better be an alternate costume for him, because Hatless armor link sounds awesome.
Equipping different weapons onto characters will change the way they fight, including speed focused one-handed swords to heavier weapons that focus on damage.
Yup, confirmed, this game is going to play like Dynasty Warriors 8.
This just in, I'm giving Impa the Master Sword.
EDIT: This comment on the article is my response to the oversexualized villain:

There's a difference between having a video game series where characters with big boobs are present, and having a company that's dedicated to making all their female characters have big boobs.
For Example:
Metroid Other M

Ninja Gaiden Sigma Series

Dead or Alive Series

(There's probably more, but seriously... No more please... lol)
Hyrule Warriors

Btw, isn't this the hottest most off topic post I ever created? ![]()

As long as their boobs aren't bigger than their freakin' head, I'm cool with it.
On topic, on topic...
Being able to play as Impa is pretty cewl, n' stuff.

Link looks good. In the sense that the design looks like they just decided to surf DeviantArt for an hour and then create some fan art of their own. It doesn't look like Zelda, it doesn't have that vibe to it. It doesn't have to, but I'm put off by this just because I feel like every other Link we've ever gotten has really felt like they belong together in a way. Style-wise I mean, they are all clearly crafted by people who know and love the franchise. This Link just looks like something one of us decided to do in an afternoon. Don't get me wrong, we have some great artists here, but I'm guessing we've all seen enough Zelda art throughout the years that you probably have an idea of what I'm talking about.
So I don't like this Link. It looks good, I'll admit that. I like the armor, I'm glad we're finally seeing a Link with some more armor, but I just wish Nintendo would have taken a similar direction within their own series, and actually make it proper. Like I said, this looks like fan art, it desperately needs more authenticity.

They are though. Look at them. That huge mask thing isn't her head, look at the bottom part of her face, and try to imagine the size of her skull under that freaky mask thing. Then compare that to her bazookas. Her rocket propelled grenade shooting tubes are clearly bigger than her 'freakin' head. ![]()

I would actually argue that a discussion about the game's direction is very much 'on topic' in a topic about the very game that is being discussed. Everything does not have to be a heated argument over digital breasts, but in many ways discussing this might actually prove to be beneficial to more than one of us. I mean, this is a hot topic, not just here, but in the gaming industry in general. The way the general woman is being portrayed within the gaming medium often ends up being a worse problem than the Barbie doll itself. Seriously. I would even argue that this also goes for the male's representation in plenty of different mediums, but I also think that this is something that clearly affects the other party in a much bigger way (I wish I could say no pun intended and mean it at this point).
Right now, Zelda is no better. Listen, I don't plan to play this game, and I haven't been following it in any way. This is the first I've heard of these issues when it comes to this game, but it bothers me that people can just shrug it off as nothing. Don't get me wrong, I don't think there needs to be some kind of ban on this kind of visual representation of women, but it is still disrespectful. No, it is. There's no way to really defend this, but at the same time I really don't think Team Ninja is 'evil' or that they want to put bad thoughts into the minds of their audience. The problem here is that there is an audience that clearly demands this kind of stuff to begin with. They've hit a very specific niche, and they're not alone in doing so at all, but I don't judge them for not letting that source of income just fly out the window.
But this is still Zelda. Do we want this in a Zelda - any kind of Zelda? Listen, I get that Dynasty Warriors has a lot of fans and I don't doubt for a second that most of them play these games because they find them fun. I've never really gotten the impression that the Dynasty Warriors series is as bad as for example Dead or Alive, when it comes to this kind of stuff. And this does look to be mostly a Dynasty Warriors game, from the little I've seen from it. The Zelda element still just looks like a skinpack slapped onto one of the earlier titles. I don't really understand why this needs the Zelda brand, unless the rumors are true and this really is just a pat on the back for Wii U-owners hungry for a proper Zelda game. There's some speculation that we might not actually get such a game for quite a while, which does kind of hurt the Zelda-fan in me. Hopefully this will be proven wrong at E3.
Point is, I don't really have a huge problem with the fact that there is boobies in Hyrule Warriors, at least not in and of itself. I do think they could have kept themselves from doing so in a game that carries the Zelda banner though, especially considering the very wide spectrum of fans this franchise has. Zelda, that is. A lot of people will be put off by this, I think, and a lot of them might not see that before they get home from the store and load up the game.

So there was more than one character announced right?

Possible human form of Volvagia anyone?
