Expo Demo Review #1: Pure Quest 2, by Scootaloo,
http://www.purezc.ne...showtopic=61572
Because these are Expo Demos, these are going to be short, screenshotless reviews (Unless it's necessary.) of what I think of them.
Story: Too soon to say. It's an interesting idea, but I since the quest isn't finished, I won't be able to comment on the story very well until the quest is finished.
Music: I really like the music choices in the quest. That's really all I have to say about that.
Screen Design: All of the screens are detailed and look really nice overall.
Gameplay: The quest feels quite nice. It's a little rough around the edges since there a few bugs here and there, but overall, I don't mind the bugs, since most of them aren't game-breaking.
Overall, I'm looking forward to this quest quite a bit, I rate this demo a 4/5.

Okay, if anyone hasn't noticed yet (look at the post above), these expo demo quests will be relatively short since they are, after all, for the expo. We are currently deciding exactly which quests we will both review, and we are dividing the quests in half (obviously). We do realize that it doesn't divide up equally since there are 15 expo quests, but we'll figure it out. ![]()
I personally will be recording them for my YouTube channel, which means that in each review that I do, I will post a link to the playlist for everyone to see if they choose.
I hope you all enjoy all the other expo demo reviews that are going to be posted soon! ![]()

Goriya Review Number 2:
Tom's Sweet Quest: http://www.armageddo...quest.php?q=233
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What happens when you're looking around the AGN quest database looking for a random quest to play? Simple! You find an incredibly obscure gem of a quest, that actually plays really nicely!
(Note: The screenshots will be the ones presented in the database, since I wasn't expecting to review this.)
Gameplay: The quest itself plays really nicely. The difficulty is moderate, and just about any player can get into it fairly easily. Now the quest being easy isn't necessarily a good thing. I'm talking about lategame, in which the game becomes incredibly easy later on, as you'll have really powerful equipment later on, despite this problem, I still think the quest flows quite nicely, and the bugs are very minimal, and don't ruin your experience at all. Some of the secrets are a little strange too, as in there are 3 occasions in which you must burn water with the candle to clear a path.

The Graphics are presented nicely. :3
Screen Design: This quest uses an edited NES Tileset, and it's friggin beautiful, this quest has really nice screens, and a lot of the custom drawn sprites look like they'd actually be in the NES Zelda, that's what makes them so nice. There are minor bugs occasionally, but that shouldn't matter, since the rest of it is beautiful.

You get to look at this nice screen, before you realize you're about to enter an annoying raft maze.
Music: Nothing to say here, there's one custom song, but that's not that great. The rest of it is generic Zelda 1 music, which, to be fair, fits the atmosphere of the quest quite nicely.

This dungeon would go nice with ALTTP music, but alas, it wasn't meant to be.
Story: Nothing to comment on here, you just save Zelda, bing bang boom.

This quest has a ton of original ideas.
Overall: This quest is definitely ahead of its time. Properly animated objects in 1.90, somewhat creative dungeon design (Especially level 7.), and just overall really nice quest.
Pros:
-Really nice screen design
-Creative dungeons for its time
-Being somewhat ahead of its time.
-Minimal amount of bugs
Cons:
-Too Easy around the end of the game.
-A few secrets that make no sense.
4/5, this quest is worth checking out, especially if you have some time to kill.

Well, way back then, I was almost done writing the review.
Then my computer crash, and I said "Fuck it"
Either way, next review is a demo.

Actually, speaking of reviews, allow me to address something of mine: Clauses
Way back when I reviewed a few other quest's (Except they weren't added to this thread for one reason or another.), I used a reviewing strategy that helped me determine a quest's rating more.
I've been doing this for a few reviews, but I feel I need to address the only clause I currently have:
The Eye Strain Clause: Should a quest cause strain on one's eyes at any point, that's automatically -1 star, no exceptions. It's fairly obvious that I would make this clause since you should all know how much I dislike things hurting the eyes of the viewer.

Interesting method of reviewing, and I would definitely understand the eye strain cause. I'd hate to see things like that in a quest >_>
Looking forward to the next review!
