Haven't been able to get too far in Level 8. All I found were 2 dungeon maps. Hints towards the first key?

2 dungeon maps?! What?! How did you find a second one?

For the first key you need to go south from a room with 5 doors and solve a puzzle.

Alright, I'm giving this another go, with a better mindset. I had actually deleted my file so I had to make it back up to the dark world again. A few things I noticed this time around ...

While I still think they're a bit much, I apparently didn't ever try KILLING the patras on the overworld. Since they never return, it's not a big problem. I've also developed better strategies for fighting wizzrobes, and got that red ring. I'm better equipped and ready for punishment!

I do have one minor suggestion. I appreciate how often you give large money rewards, but once you've used it all up on those expensive items and upgrades, grinding for money from enemies is reaaally slow. I actually found the fastest way of making money was walking back and forth between two screens and cutting the grass/bushes. Maybe slightly increase the drop rate of the ten rupees from the green Leevers, or have some other enemies drop five rupees? Or maybe I'm once again missing something obvious.

Anyway, I really enjoy many aspects of your work, and I'm gonna do my best to make it through this time. icon_smile.gif

There's a few caves in the dark world where you can get 200s and 600s in ruppees.

In the room with the lock block, you can bomb the bottom wall (blue) and then you get into a room with super darknuts that drop the map. I think i also got a map stepping into the red version of the room. to the right is a spike room where in the blue side you have to push the ice block around (I think this is the puzzle you were referring to). Unless theres something else I'm missing. I used the lens and see no triggers. I've tried diving and whistling too.

Also... now what?

You go back to that room after finishing Moosh's Ways, at that time the door will open.

If you can't do Moosh's Ways, then you need to complete Veni Vidi Vici.

Okay, I know what happened and it's the single most retarded thing Zelda Classic has ever decided to do. It decided to overwrite the key in that room with another map. I don't know if this bug is even possible to fix...I'll PM you level 3 cheat and if I can't fix it I'll just put a message at the beginning of the level telling players to make a backup save.

You need to kill the enemies before the key gets stuck there.

Yeah, after getting the big wallet ... Forget what I said about the rupees. If anything, Moosh is too generous.

When I designed this quest I made the assumption that players would make a lot of mistakes and miss a lot of stuff. Because of this, I put a lot more money in the quest than I would ever need on any given 100% playthrough. In the first LQftH everything was free except for the hookshot. I didn't want money to be too much of a problem here either.

I tried my best to give this quest a little bit of something for everyone. The main levels from what I've seen weren't too difficult for the average quest player to make it past and the hardest stuff was all made completely optional. I had multiple kinds of difficulty suited for different playstyles ranging from the minimalist style difficulty of Ultimate Test and the wind based difficulty of Level 7 Hard Mode and Veni Vidi Vici to the more puzzle based difficulty of Moosh's Ways. I even more or less thew the player a free master sword by making Pitfall only about as difficult as the regular levels.

Do you still think this quest is a 3? I don't consider a 3 bad, but I'm curious if you really consider Level 5's difficulty spike to be enough to pull it down from what otherwise sounded like a 4 or a 5. I might want to nerf it if it's frustrating people that much. If it really is that bad, what should I change?

Edit: This doesn't just apply to Aevin. The more people who have complaints about Level 5's difficulty to voice, the more likely I am to change it.

The short answer is, no, I don't still think it deserves a three. The long answer ... is spoilered for plot points and other stuff.
