"It's popular, but not with me"

I thought this was going to be a nice thread about noting things that are popular, but why we really don't care for them. Not to entirely pick apart each other, or completely slam a certain fanbase. Please show some common sense and just take a step back and calm down. Careful with what you say. Particularly things like "Get some friends." And there's no need for calling out like that. That's what the staff are here for.
Now take a deep breath, count to ten, collect your heads, and let's resume peacefully, please.

Uncalled for. Seriously.
Also, Vaelstrom, where's that screenshot you had from Lauren Faust's deviatnart page? The one about the intended audience? I think Zim Elite needs to see that.
Out of my irc scrollback and not in recent history. Forgot to save/bookmark.

Whaaat? I will say that the first time I watched the trilogy, I wasn't very impressed.
Then I read the books, which floored me because they were so great.
When I watched the trilogy again, I understood what the movies were really all about.
Now I think they're brilliant. (Except they messed up Theoden and Faramir).
The problem with the movies, is that there is so much going on that it will go right past
you if you are not familiar with the stories. They were definitely made for people who
know the books. Newcomers just won't get it.
There were a few minor things in the movies I would change, but overall I don't think
anyone will ever be able to do a better job with them. Ever.
I understand you are free to choose your opinions, but I hope that everyone who wasn't
impressed by the films will give the books a shot before dismissing them entirely.
I get all choked up at the end of the trilogy now that I've read the books XD
EDIT: I do agree that Inception was overrated.

I think for now, however, this one shall suffice:

A river in Egypt:
Someone's in it and they refuse to acknowledge that they are being carried away to nowhere. Seriously, if you've got a problem, face it head-on (apply directly to the forehead.) Don't act like your issue doesn't exist, pin it on someone else, or immediately give up and pretend things are going to be okay! Do something about it!
One-sided thinking:
Instead of being the victim, think through your situation as if you're outside of it looking in as an impartial observer; that way you can often see the situation more clearly, and it makes it much easier to see both sides of an argument. You may find a solution you didn't realize was there.
Don't purposefully be a martyr:
"I want to go to x for dinner."
"Wait, I thought we were going to y!"
"FINE! WE'LL GO TO Y!"
Guilt tripping is not cool.
I so rarely do this, but quoted for truth. Particularly the third one. But yeah, concerning the first, I reeeallly don't like it when people blame things on others unnecessarily. I hate it when people say "you" or "your" instead of "the company's" (If you work for them) as it makes me feel guilty where guilt isn't at all appropriate nor necessary. My Hardware store was recently expecting a huge shipment of ad goods, but the truck got a flat tire, so was delayed by many crucial hours. People were asking me why I was falsely advertising stuff. Those are rage-inducing, twig-snapping moments, people. Twig-snapping moments.
The martyr related bit, though, is what really grinds my goat. It defies brain capacity for comprehension. My first, and inevitably, last reaction to their social martyrdom is to just say "Okay! ^_^ I'm glad you see it my way!" and just walk the hell out to wherever we just "agreed" to go. It's like ... just ... ... ick.

Here's the fix.
STOP! WE GET IT!!! YOU LIKE THE SHOW! TALK ABOUT SOMETHING ELSE!!! If the absolutely incessant abuse of ponies stops, it might be worth becoming an hero for this post.
Seriously, I've seen an episode of the show and I agree that there could be worse things on TV for kids these days, but good grief. Enough is enough.

BTW: Fyre-Flye is the DeviantID for Lauren Faust, the creator of the show.

It seems more like bashing and bashing a certain thing over and over again.
It's a perfect thread to for flames to start, so I'm blind to the reason this exists.
So again, just to recap

But everyone's having such a pleasant time being pissed off.
I think we should let this thread tear the message boards apart. Clearly that is the wise thing to do.

I had a great time finding things to agree with and add to. Anything I didn't agree with, I mostly let alone.
Because if I can't appreciate something that someone says, I try to understand it on my own time, rather than just fight them on it.

Chill. If we can avoid the flames we're good.
If we can't it'll get locked and we'll all feel ashamed of ourselves.
Please contact a moderator with your concerns rather than posting them again and again.
No i think we should Just calm down And Be reasonable adults here
And let people have their own opinions Okay
QFT
I would also like to point out that we should stop discussing the status of this thread. It never helps it get on the right track. In fact, most of the time, it makes a topic worse.
Also QFT

1. Using a thread about what you don't particularly care for as an excuse to bash and flame valid choices. I can understand why people might enjoy doing this, but when I tried it I didn't really get much out of it.
2. Pears. People enjoy them, but I don't get it. I HATE pears. (and I'm not just saying that for the doctor who reference, I genuinely cannot stand the taste of pears. The texture is all wrong.)
