All bug free except that turbo tunnel where he glitches out and goes ultra slow.

Not a glitch, he just tried to slide too late and didn't get through quickly, thus making him go incredibly slow. It happened in all Modern sonic games, if there was something you had to slide under but you slid too late. Not quite so late that you rin face-first into the wall, but late enough that you don't make it through as quickly as you could have.

Yay, thread revive. (Maybe)

So, I just checked the Sonic Wiki's page for Sonic Generations, see if there's any news. Well, I think this qualifies. If you can't be bothered clicking the link, GAME.co.uk (A British game store, for those who don't know) has Sonic Generations up for pre-order. A physical PC version. Steam pretty much already confirmed it, but now we have definite evidence of a PC version. The GAME.co.uk page has placeholder box art (With the Games For Windows bar at the top, but it's probably a physical Steam copy, and the games for windows one is the only placeholder they have. That's my theory, anyway.) and claims it will come out in 96 days. Which, unless I have messed up my counting, will be November 4th. It could be a placeholder, but the 4th doesn't really seem like a plcaeholder date, placeholders are usually 1st or the last day of that month, so that's probably the real date.

So, just thought I'd let you all know, as someone will probably be very glad at this news. I am, anyway.

Thank you for updating this thread. I had meant to before, but kept forgetting. The PC version's epic; hope that means if they release anymore demos, they'll put them on Steam so I can actually play them. But there's also this I wanted to talk about: CHEMICAL PLANT SCREENS!!

Looks really freakin' tight. Oh, and there's a little something else confirmed...

That's right. Just as I was hoping, the Sonic CD Metal Sonic boss is back! Presumably they're moving it to the boss arena of Chemical Plant, but:

Who cares? It all looks epic. Sega, stop teasing us already! I can't wait three or four more months; I'm about to explode! icon_deformed.gif

Goddammit, I have no words for this. This is awesome. These new pics look amazing! As if I wasn't anticipationg this game enough already. I don't really remember much of Chemical Plant Zone (It was part of what little I've played of Sonic 2) other than running on those blue goo-filled pipes, but goddamn, this level looks epic. The purple water looks brilliant, that's some of the best water I've ever seen in games. But the level really doe slook like it's gonna be fun. I also actually read about the Metal Sonic boss fight on Sonic Wiki earlier, but didn't pay much attention to it. Judging by the scenery, I don't think this boss will be part of Chemical Plant Zone. I can't think of what else it could be part of though. However, the second pic actually reminds me of the last battle against Shadow/Sonic in SA2.

I seriously hope there is more demos, expecially if they get on Steam. I just hope I can either find my controller, or the keyboard controls aren't too bad on the PC version.

By the way, tip: Don't go on Sonic Wiki if you don't want spoilers. Or at least, avoid the Sonic Generations page, and don't click the Villains link on the main page. There's probably a buncha other things you should avoid, but those are the only ones I know.

Chemical Plant 3D = Eggmanland. Seriously, I heard the Eggmanland music in my head the second I saw the screenshots. Looks pretty cool. And Metal Sonic = instant win. So yeah, I'm psyched.

Gameplay.

Freakin' Chemical Plant Gameplay.

Classic and Modern.

... though not much of Modern's.

Oh yeah, a little bit of City Escape too, though there's not much new to look at besides red rings are returning. Wonder if they're serving the Sonic Colors purpose of needing to be collected to unlock Super Sonic, or for other unlockables. We'll see. But this video was from 18 days ago and I didn't see it till now. I'm ashamed.

... *goes to check Sonic Wiki to see if there's any new news*

...

Some looks at Rooftop Run, Seaside Hill/Ocean Palace, and Chemical Plant (though not as much as in that video up there). I... ... just... look at what's in the last frame of that video. I have never used the term "fangasm" before.

... I'm using it now.

Pics for Seaside Hill and Rooftop Run can be found here.

But wait, those getting the 3DS version of the game, there's more!

Screenshots here.

Modern Sonic looks a bit better here than he does in Green Hill, thankfully. Not that much better, but better. The problem? Apparently all the Classic Sonic stages from the Genesis area will be almost-exact remakes of their original versions, instead of brand new versions. Can you say "complete laziness" on Sega's behalf? Next they're gonna tell us that the Modern Sonic levels they take from Advance onward will be identical to their original versions and only edited enough to incorporate boost and new moves. Gah... Well, we can hope not and hope more new info is shown that refutes this. Till then, I'm still a bit reserved on the 3DS version. Maybe I'll wait to see its reviews...

If I could throw money at Sega, I would right now. Let me just say, the PS3/360 version looks amazing. Outstanding. I see parts of Adabat in Seaside Hill, which, while not as cool as outright having Adabat, is still awesome. And rest of it all looks amazing as well.

Not too happy about the 3DS version's classic levels being direct ports (read: Screw you Dimps), but that video has restored my faith in the Modern Sonic portion of it, and the game itself as a whole. So to sum this all up, I'm excited, a lot, and buying both versions. I know I may not be conveying it well, but I'm pretty much freaking out right now. That is all.

Well, those of us who are PC (Master race), looks like I'll be getting the 3DS version. And dear goodness, them remaking levels from my favorite Sonic (S&K) already has me reserving money for a copy of this.

Wait, how the hell are those direct ports so far? Mushroom Hill Zone already looks different than before, take it from someone who played a lot of S&K.

Don't worry; there'll be a PC version too.

The Classic Level is a port. The one they show on that vid is Modern. I mean, look at Green Hill Act 1 on 3DS. It's the exact same as Green Hill Zone Act 1 on Genesis.

Ah, just the read wiki article, didn't realize that was for old Sonic. Thought Russ meant that the fall level was a direct port, and I was just like "...blahgihgail;dhga;hg"

Have you seen the whole game? NO.
Have you seen other levels? NO.
Have you played the game? NO.

Before you hate the game, you should play it first icon_rolleyes.gif

I know this quote is old, but I can't be bothered digging through this thread all the time. icon_wink.gif

I have seen the whole game. I played many of the original sonic games, and thats exactly what this is a rehash of. From sonic 1 to sonic adventure 2. The only difference is that this implements the same EXTREMELY BUGGY, EXTREMELY TERRIBLE engines from Sonic Colors, Sonic 4, etc, to those levels which breaks everything.

Oh, and then add level design from DIMPS, which equates to an overall terrible game which is only trying to sell itself on nostalgia. Nostalgia alone does not a good game make. Sega should have learned that by now.

Holy damn, every new trailer or screenshot just makes me want this game more. Hurry up, Sega! But anyway, the Chemical Plant gameplay certainly looks good, thanks to my lack of experience with the Classic Sonic games, and my bad memory of what I have played, this should be quite fresh for me. The Modern Sonic gameplay also looks good, but I can tell that red ring in the skydiving-like part is going to be annoying. icon_deformed.gif The Modern Sonic music sounds a bit weird, though. Speaking of music, is it weird that I've heard that music before but never realised it's Chemical Plant Zone? Actually, why am I asking, I know it is. icon_heh.gif Also, the Modern sonic City Escape music seems to be growing on me. Possibly because I've realized it's more suited than the Classic Sonic music. I'm not saying it's better, but think about it, when you have an awesome song playing in the background, the gameplay will distract you from how awesome the song is, whereas with the Modern Sonic, it distracts you form how bad it is. No other comments on City Escape, really. But the 2 Sonics trailer is awesome, despite having (probably) never played the Rooftop Run level in Sonic Unleashed, I can tell it'll be awesome in this. As will Seaside Hill, or whatever it's called. The Giant Mech looks epic as a 3D model. It also kind of ruins my theory of Metal Sonic being Chemical Plant Zone's boss, despite what Sonic Wiki still says. Frankly, that just sounds like speculation on their part, as the Giant Mech would make much more sense.

After proclaiming my love for Sonic Adventure 2 in the Sonic Series thread, I stumbled upon the video of the Sonic Generations City Escape...rehash...thing.

Hi. I'm buying this.

Yay, using quotes from completely irrelevant games to show how I'm feeling. icon_deformed.gif

It would appear that the Sonic Wiki has taken all mention of a PC version off the Sonic Generations page, as well as Game no longer having the PC version. (Or the 3DS version, for that matter. Oddly.) Whether or not this actually means there's no PC version, I'm not sure, but I just thought I'd post this here to let you all know.
