Nintendo quotes this game takes place 100 years after Phantom Hourglass. So looks like we know where in the Zelda timeline this game is.

100 years after PH. Then I was right! The ocean does dry up! Perhaps its a story of the imprisoning war mentioned in LttP. *gets hopeful*

Maybe Link and Tetra found a huge island and started a new Hyrule. (Remember the end of WW?) That would actually make sense.

I guess. But I still say it would make more sense for the water to slowly recede. After all, the water came from somewhere, and it will have to go somewhere eventually. Plus, even Death Mountain only made a fairly good sized island (Dragon Roost), and Death Mountain was huge. Imagine how large of a mountain it would have to be to make an island the size of the map shown in the trailer.

Maybe the water is slowing receding, but it hasn't completely receded yet.

That's a possibility, and it would be pretty interesting. Perhaps there are a few really big islands left, or maybe even one land mass with a giant inland lake (the flooded Hyrule Field) in the middle. This could be interesting.

I still don't like the train... icon_unsettled.gif

Oh well. The rest of the game seems to take advantage of some cool features, like that Berserker. As for the whip, the first thing I thought when I saw it used to cross a gap was "Grapple Hook," so looks like we're getting that weapon back in a new form.

Nobody likes the train.

And the whip reminded me of Indiana Jones. Great. Zelda is ripping off 2 series: Indiana Jones and Thomas the Tank Engine.

The only thing I want to see in Spirit Tracks is Nintendo to do something new. Right now, their latest Zelda games surely lack originality. :\

You can't say this lacks originality. A train, controlling phantoms, etc. This looks pretty original.

And ya, the whip is awesome! icon_smile.gif

Originality also has to be entertaining. Out of those two you listed... Well, one out of two ain't bad. icon_razz.gif

The phantom concept I can see going long ways. The train? I can see it going long ways, but only in the distance it covers.

Aye. Controlling the phantom seems like a better version of the Temple of Time in TP.

Well, since Ganondorf dies in Wind Waker, it would make sense that, if another hundred years were to pass, the Great Sea would dry up. Since the flooding was called the Great Flood, would this be the Great Drought?

I'm happy, this doesn't mess up my timeline theory at all if it comes 100 years after Wind Waker. But now I need to worry about a new arc that may come around because of this new Zelda sequence. And then the new Wii game, lord knows what that'll do to my timeline, dammit.

Please, please don't make baby dungeons Nintendo! That's my biggest complaint about Phantom Hourglass and one of the reasons I traded my copy in.
