I would call it mass hype, mass hysteria, but not propaganda. Lots of pseudoscience babble and YouTube videos trying to get people scared. For what reason, I have no clue.

Speaking of mumbo-jumbo, go to http://bioresonant.com/ for a couple laughs.

You know there is one signifigance to that date.

The aligning of Sol with the galactic center. That is pretty much all I believe.
This whole thing will end up just like y2k was. Hollywood isn't making it any easier though.

Alignment of Sol with the galactic center? I think that's one of the points made by 2012 believers. Not sure exactly what it's supposed to mean, and I have a feeling they don't know what their supposed to mean either. More babble if you ask me.

I was looking into it and most of the people in science say that alignment will occur and isn't the first time it has occurred either.
I thought they had said it happened some time in the 90's?

Oh and I have been using a site that I found interesting.
http://www.spaceweather.com
Check it out. It's got some interesting things on it.

I'm hoping it won't happen on my lifetime.I'm too young to die or witness the pain and losing my loved ones if it does happen. But it will one day, hundreds of planets get destroyed each day on the entire universe. Why must earth be an exception?

Death from the Skies, by Phil Plait, is a good read if you're worried about that kind of stuff.

Somehow, I find it hard to believe that the end is in 2 years.
It'll be just like y2k was. All hype and nothing to show.

On the plus side, I've been watching the activity on the sun as of late.
Pretty active considering the length of the minimum it was just in.

Well, it's official now.
Scientists have determined that an asteroid did in fact kill the dinosaurs.

Read about it here.

I gotta say. I'm not surprised. An asteroid collision really was the only thing that cold have started the Ice Age.

Heh. reminds me of an American Dad episode where Stan dies and goes to heaven and escapes.
There is a scene just before he sees god where god is playing with his toy dinosaurs and he says,
"I love these guys. Why did I ever send them to Mars?"
I love that line.
