Uh, aren't you meant to thrust the Nun-chuck forward to use your shield? Not upwards? Also I tend to swing it side to side too when using shield and I don't have much of a problem with it's sensitivity.

I'm pretty certain you can swing it in any direction to activate shield bash. It's just sensitive as far as the spin attacks go, and even then, I'm starting to think you could swing the Wiimote upwards and the nunchuck to the left and it would still do a vertical one. I'd have to check though.

Since the Nunchuck is not MotionPlus-enhanced, I *think* it only senses movement in general, not direction. I noticed that shaking it left/right was a lot more effective than pushing it forward.

Well, yeah, that's what I ment. I lacked the proper vocabulary, sorry.

As for the nunchuck, my only beef with it was that it was too sensitive sometimes. If I move my nunchuck up fast to scratch my nose or something with my index finger, or set it down to reach for my phone or a glass or something, Link'll raise his shield. Kind of annoying...

This drove me absolutely bonkers. I eventually got used to the sensitivity and figured out how to deal with it and what not, but that's not to say it didn't still plague me throughout the entire game. It just plagued me less. Even if I was just changing the way I was sitting, Link would shoot up his shield. Quite aggravating, if I do say so, myself...

And that's part of the reason I never used a shield. But even without one, I did notice that it could be too sensitive. Particularly during the Thousand Year Arachnid fight. Every freaking time I tried to stab, it would register that I was shaking the nunchuck and Link would do a vertical spin attack. Came within one heart of dying cuz of it, and I was going to be extremely angry if a stupid over-sensitive nunchuck ruined my no-death streak.

When that happened, I held the Nunchuck up to my shoulder and thrust with my right hand, but then again, I'm good at keeping the rest of my body still while only moving one appendage. Also I still never had a problem with stabbing. icon_shrug.gif

You use the harp for at least three songs on Isle of the Goddess, then Song of the Hero, then I'm half-certain you play Ballad of the Goddess somewhere. Fortunately these don't make you restart if you fail, so you just have to play them only once, watch a sequence, and that's it. Then there's finding Gossip Stone locations but those are optional and not difficult.

Wish I could have used the harp a lot more... Like the ocarina, as mentioned. I don't really remember any of the harp songs because I heard them so few times, as opposed to OoT, where the songs are ingrained forever in my memory because you played them over and over again.

Sometimes ingrained is a bad thing. Elegy of Emptiness, I'm looking at you. icon_glare.gif

Still, I've listened to the harp songs individually off a Skyward Sword playlist on YouTube, and they're actually pretty songs I wouldn't mind hearing more often, so I guess I agree in that respect; c'mon Nintendo, give your next Zelda game an instrument with real controls. icon_frown.gif

Like... Hyrule Hero instead of Guitar Hero?

>_> Yes.

I swore after playing that terrible, poorly explained pumpkin minigame that I'd never play this game again, but damn it it looks like I played it again. That one part where you had to carry the water cauldron up the mountain was the most broken thing ever. Some of the enemies *cough* moblins *cough* were so poorly placed that if I got hit once, they'd prevent me from climbing back up and hitting them. I had to use like 20 arrows to kill them...icon_frown.gif

The Fire Sanctuary was pretty cool, but the boss was incredibly easy...Here's hoping Ghirahim doesn't get even weaker for the third fight with him...

So... don't let moblins hit you? Are they the ones with metal shields? You're supposed to dash up and over them, then hit them in the back. Once I figured that out (ironically Fi told me), they turned out to be pretty easy. At least they take fewer hits once you upgrade to the Master Sword. icon_razz.gif

I got a question. How do you defeat the fat Bokoblins who carry the iron shield as opposed to the wooden shield? I simply just ran passed the first one I met in the desert by fluke. Than the ones before fire sanctuary I killed those with arrows.

It appears my question was answered before I even got a chance to post it. Now that's prompt.

Those are the Moblins. The Bokoblins are the smaller ones. And yes, Moblins have let themselves go. Or rather, they started losing weight, since these are the first Moblins in the timeline; the rest are much smaller and even muscular in some instances. icon_deformed.gif

Oh trust me, he's harder the third time. I'd say the final Ghirahim fight is one of the hardest in the series.
