The most awesome thing happened last night! I caught Uxie on Platinum with the 1st ¤Great Ball I hurled at it, and it wasn't even asleep or anything. Talk about pure luck...

Hooray. I was traveling through the Ice Path today, and caught my first non-Gyrados shiny:
First Shiny

EDIT: Caught, because I think I saw shiny Onix on the original Gold and didn't know what it was.

Awesome, congrats! I remember when I found a shiny Stantler near, um, I think it was just south of Ecruteak. Anyways, I was so excited. And I almost ran out of Pokeballs. That made me so nervous. So now I never go anywhere without at least ten pokeballs, plus the Master Ball, just in case.

My first non-Gyarados shiny was a Zubat in the FireRed ROM. Haven't seen any shinies since. Not that it matters; my team's all set, so, unless it's a shiny of a Pokémon I haven't caught yet, it probably wouldn't matter to me.

... Okay, that's a lie, I'd probably catch it anyways.

What really sucks is when a shiny can run away. For instant, in Emerald's Victory Road, there are Hariyama that know whirlwind. My friend found a shiny Hariyama. he has to use a Master Ball so it didn't escape. But in the end, it was worth it.

I remember when I got the shiny Stantler, I texted three of my friends about it. Two responded something like "Awesome!", and the third said "Stantlers suck." I got a laugh out of that one.

My internet at home is currently out, and what that has to do with this is that I finally picked up Heart Gold during that time to distract myself. Yeah, I know, I'm 3 months late... well, whatever. It's pretty awesome, bros. Currently loving my Miltank. A lot.

We have another member on board!...not that I can do anything until I get a new DS. I've never seen shiny Pokémon in any adventure on any game (though I know what to expect). By the way Russ, why waste a ¤Master Ball on it? I save those for persistent/running legends.

Anyways, so are people really not encountering shinies all the time? I wasn't aware that they were too rare... no, in fact, the first wild Pokemon I met in SS was a shiny one, and I've encountered about seven more, all before fighting the final Gym battle in Johto. In Ruby I met even more, and Platinum I believe seven, just like in SS... I knew they're not common, but like I've explained, they've never seemed too rare to me

'cause it's a shiny! If you have one Master Ball, and are choosing between a legendary will who run away that you can encounter again, or a shiny that will run away and never come back, go for the shiny! if worst came to worst, he could have traded the shiny and restarted to get another Master Ball to get the legendary. But running legendaries really aren't that hard to get. Shinies are. Unless you're Migo.

Prospekt: Whoa. My team was that level around the 7th or 8th gym.

I feel left out. The only shiny I've ever run into was a Rattata in Silver...ten years ago.

Lotta grinding? I didn't have a level 30 until I found out how tough MORTY WILLIAMS's Gengar was.

I have quite a few shinies, but not as many as Migo. :O Sandlash, Raticate, Nidorina, Nidoqueen, Nidoking, Eevee, Lapras, Cubone(x2), and Wingull are all that I can think of off the top of my head, but I have a couple more than that. I haven't found any in SS though.

EDIT: Derp, How could I forget about my kick-butt shiny Swampert?

Otherwise, my party is quite varying, from Level 15 to Level 30. I do use a lot of different pokemon though.
