Shots 1 and 2 are the newly-written diagonal Sweep attack in action; it goes for six full frames of animation in about a 120 degree swing arc, and it leaves a short little trail behind. I feel like I'll probably alter the tail placement a little though (move the "outer" tail forward a couple of frames so they're not directly parallel).

And shot 3 is the new Power Thrust attack in action. The little grey shapes you see behind him are the afterimages of himself he leaves behind as he darts forward up to 32 pixels (two tiles) mid-attack; it really looks better animated than in a static image like this. icon_confused.gif Ah well.

And some of you might have noticed and some might have not, but Felix (the character) uses an extra 4th color now in all his animations. icon_smile.gif There's two tan shades now. It surprises me just how big a difference it makes.

So, yeah, just couldn't hold this in for long... icon_kawaii.gif

No. icon_sweat.gif Trade secrets. Not even my beta testers get to see some of this stuff. Also it's like 20,000 bytes of code and ties into major parts of the game physics, nerfing or disabling them. Giving out "just the sword scripts" for example would be giving out broken or non-working code.

I'm sure you can code it yourself though! I won't raise any fuss if anyone tries to copy me. Most of them can't, anyway. IPB Image

But to those who can, it'd be fun for me to see this sort of thing in your own flavor. Just be prepared to work! This is the second time around that I've coded these moves in and I've learned a LOT of "dos and don'ts" about general Game Design theory just by doing it. This is what professionals do to make six figures and I'm trying to solo it. It's seriously out of my league... but hey, this is Sparta Zelda Classic and I'm a masochist, so ha. icon_toast.gif

EDIT: Oh and I moved the outer tail in the Sweep attacks forward 4 pixels like I said I would, and just as I thought, it looks a LOT nicer.

Oh, that sounds sweet. I am indeed pretty interested in this still. Which is a good sign: eventhough there was no progress on the project for a rather long time what you build was so impressive that I haven't lost any interest in it yet.

You should link to your old thread in your signature, I bet people would love to check it out (again). I sure to. Hello PZC search engine.

IMHO floor borders should only be used where the floor meets the wall, but that doesn't seems to be the way people like to do it.

What is that thing SW of the chest? Hard to tell if it's a floor switch or a wall bullseye.

In that case, try editing it to make it look like it's more vertical... the perspective clashes with the walls.

I could have sworn I've seen a design like that from Hero of Dreams. It was from the desert dungeon. Was it inspired by it?

That Hookshot target is wrong. It's meant to be used as a floor object. Another omission Akkabus forgot to put into PR was the DoR hookshot wall targets. These PR omissions are starting to add up. :/

1. Nope, never even gotten passed level two in Hero of Dreams.
2. I will rip the ones from DoR then.

EDIT: Turns out the one in DoR is exactly the same.

Looks good. The skulls on the edge will lead to some problems. The hookshot target is a ground object the wall version is the same hookshot features but in a \O/ shape. The colours make it feel just like another ice dungeon, nothing special or unique looking.

Also the ice on the top wall... It looks odd can you flip it and see if it looks better?

Well, he has watched me play it, and I do agree that it does look similar to a screen in said dungeon from Hero of Dreams.
But, I also saw him make the screen in like 5 minutes without really looking at anything. icon_wink.gif
