Just downloaded all the DLC characters:

 

Lucas: Pretty much identical to his Brawl form, not much there.

 

Ryu: He has potential, but not a fighter that reflects my playstyle.

 

Roy: OMFG MY INTUITION WAS RIGHT. I love using him, he's officially my third main. I was right about his moveset. He's now a semi-clone, and the differences between him and Marth can be instantly noticed, unlike Lucina or Dark Pit.

I also got all three of them. And I love each of them so much! Seriously, I've been having so much fun trying all of them out and becoming better with them.

I don't particularly care about Ryu and Roy, so I'm saving myself the twelve dollars there. Did pick up Lucas though. Maybe I'm just imagining things, but he feels much better than he did in Brawl. His up smash in particular, holy cow. It's great to have him back. And given that Nintendo announced EarthBound Zero is being released in the west today, I'm going into EarthBound overload. It's pretty amazing seeing the series getting this much love from Nintendo again.

Got all three new characters as well as the stages. They're quite fun, and I'm pleased to see that Roy has... gotten a couple tweaks at least, instead of being a direct Marth copy, so that's nice. And Ryu... I didn't realize how much I wanted Ryu in Smash until now. He's great, he's a nostalgia blast, and he's really fun to play as; the technical stuff is completely optional, but I can't help but want to mess around with it, mostly because Street Fighter II was one of my favorite games as a kid. That's not to say I want them to start implementing combos in Smash, I don't, but I think with Ryu, it works. Also his stance, his movement, his moves... it's so SNES. And it's so beautiful.

 

Oh yeah, and I was playing around on the Miiverse stage as Lucina vs. CPU Roy when this happened:

Although Roy's recovery move stinks (in distance), I'm really liking what they did with him. He's like a Marth/Ike hybrid in a way.

Something I'm wondering about is, do the DLC characters have alternative special moves?

They sure don't.  It's understandable for a character like Ryu to not have any, but otherwise... It'd be nice.

Just occurred to me. This is the planned dlc meaning holy crap, what about the smash ballot.

For me, I can picture King K. Rool coming. He's been getting a lot of smash popularity as of late.

Got all of the DLC (except for a few Mii costumes).

 

The only characters I really want to see in Smash Bros. 4 are the two I voted for in the Ballot (Isaac and Dixie Kong). I won't mind anyone else (as long as it's not a stupid or controversial character).

 

I wonder if any other surprises will be announced during tomorrow's Digital Event (I'm still expecting Wolf to return).

Lucas: Up smash kills at 50% fully charged. That's a buff.

Ryu: One of the most fun characters to play. He's not easy to use at all because of the wide verity of moves. But it's so satisfying when you land a hit with him. The stage is also awesome.

Roy: Side smash too OP. Kills at 60% uncharged near edge? I love it!

 

And there's a Megaman.exe costume. It's cool.
