Messed around in ZQuest a little bit, didn't really do much though.
What did you accomplish in ZC today?

Lately I have just been working on a Word file, writing ideas of the sorts. I'm planning a small quest.
Sadly, I can't (And refuse) to work in Zquest because of a scrolling problem with my new mouse.
I hope it gets fixed soon. You're one of my top ZQuesters here.
Today, I've been working on several item sprites. Both custom and ripped.

Throughout most of the quest; you play as Harvey, the quest's second protagonist (the other being Hal), who can't use swords. Instead, he has a lance and an axe at his disposal in the place of a sword. The lance functions as a stab-only sword with a 1.5 tile range and does less damage than the axe; which has a wide 5-tile slash, does more damage than the lance but it is slower and getting hit cancels the whole attack (the same applies to the lance, but it is less noticable because it is much faster). The differences between the two weapons presents the player with the challenge of forming a strategy around using them.
Normally, you would swiftly attack an enemy with your sword without much thought about how to tackle it. This time, you need to think about how to tackle enemies as you now have two distinct choices with no middle ground between them. Pick them off from a safe distance with the lance or get in close to cleave them open with the axe, there being many situations where one tatic is better than the other. For example, the axe makes a great crowd control weapon thanks to its formidable power and wide range but it is awful against enemies with powerful ranged attacks or tend to stay away from them.

Today I have been working on remaking "An Ants ADVENTURE!". Also known as "The Legend Of The ANT". So far I have made the graphics for a large amount of weapons and working on the main character, Which I will have make double the tiles for because in the start of the game the player can choose to be a male or female character, Which will only slightly effect the game (Mainly messages).

Scripted the Firerod and Lance weapons. Wasn't that hard, especially when I used Joe123's GB Firerod script as the template for the script. Both of them work well, but I am probably going to have to rewrite them when I implement charging.
Item script to do list:
- Axe.
- Ice Rod (this is going to be painful).
- Spears.
- Bombchus.
- Deku Nuts.

I added all my custom item sprites into my quest file. Got to ask for scripts now - mainly for the Whirlwind, Bow and the Frost Wand.
The whirlwind will shoot blasts of wind to stun enemies and operate fans. When they hit a solid object or a enemy, hopefully it will use the "cut bush leaves" projectiles (i.e leaves flying around).
The bow is pretty simple, Link will use a "using the bow" sprites instead of the "stabbing" sprites. The arrows can catch on fire upon contact with torches, lighting other torches on fire. Also there are these certain tiles which will change the arrow's direction, similar to PH/ST.
The Frost Wand will freeze water and create a spiky ball of ice which can hurt enemies from afar. And the idea didn't came from orithan, I actually had this months ago. Plus mine is most likely going to be more useful in terms of navigation and combat, but I can't fully judge.
My goal for items: give them more than one purpose. This will mean items like the boomerang and hookshot will not appear.

Well, I got my old DoR quest back because the Holy God known as Jared had a backup, so I'm going to start making some progress with that for the first time in ages.

If I may ask, what do you want the ice rod to do?
-Strike
I want the Ice Rod to send out a spray of ice (the Ice part is purely cosmetic) that freezes all enemies and water within a certain amount of distance in front of Link.

Did nothing in ZC today and yesterday because I had no time. Except, I tried out a few quests in the DB.

I made a very nice-looking proton pack weapon, only to go back to my game and find out that sometime in the last week, some change that I made in my scripts created a bug that causes ghosted enemies to wink out after one frame. While I wanted a way to make ghosted enemies invisible I had not intended to make them disappear entirely. :/
I now need to roll back to an older master script, and re-add each new item one at a time. On a positive note, the problem does not deem to be my global script, as loading the older global with the other new items did not fix the issue. I honestly do not know what is causing it... Huzzah...
On the bright side, my proton pack and ectogoggles work nicely.

I'm still fine tuning my story, and I planned a minidungeon.

But what color will the dirt be, then?!?
