I'm considering to play Final Fantasy XIII, I only seen a few videos, it really looks great but a bit cutscene heavy. I also heard that FFX is getting remastered which is awesome. FFX was my first FF I played and it's my favorite FF game.

I would say go for it and play XIII, It wasn't that heavy on cutscenes. Well at least I didn't think it was.
And if it was, It just makes me feel closer to the game.

Anyways I say XIII was one hell of a game, great graphics and game play.

I decided to go back to the other Layton games to finish up any missing puzzles/mini-games I didn't bother with when I finished the story. Cleared Curious Village out pretty quick as I just had 3 puzzles along with some of the weekly puzzles they sent out.

Currently on Diabolical Box, I didn't bother with the mini-games much, so I'm working on those first. (The hamster one was the only one I really went out of my way to do.) Most of the puzzles are done, aside from the bonus and weekly puzzles.

I'm not sure about my status on Unwound Future, though I think I did a fair chunk of that one. Last Spectre I also believe I did a fair chunk, and Miracle Mask is mostly mini-games at this point and the daily puzzles they send out. icon_razz.gif

Been playing some more of my Pokemon White game. Had to stop for a while to train up an old Dark Pokemon (Pawniard) since I didn't have one handy for the Elite Four.

My party right now consists of Zekrom (managed to catch it with a Timer Ball, so I still have my Master Ball to use on something else!), Emboar, Leavanny, Swoobat, Stoutland, and Zebstrika. (not sure on spelling, but too lazy to check) Everything is about LV 45 except for Zekrom who's at LV 52.

Zekrom still has the default skills. Emboar has Slash, Flamethrower, Arm Thrust, and Scald. Leavanny has Tackle, Leaf Blade, Bug Bite, and Shadow Claw. Swoobat has Psychic, Fly, Air Cutter, and Assurance. Stoutland has Strength, Surf, Dig, and Crunch. Zebstrika has Stomp, Discharge, Flame Charge, and an Electric attack I don't remember the name of but I keep it because it never misses.

I lost on the Ghetsis battle. Any recommendations on what to do to improve my chances? All I can think of is to just stock up on more Revives and Moomoo Milk (it's cheap and in most cases will get me up to full or nearly full health.)

The worst thing about this is, as soon as I finish this game, I'm still going to have to go through B/W 2 just to finish playing catch-up. I don't mind it when there's a new world and the new batch of 100 Pokemon to find, but I've heard that most of B/W 2 is revisited locations and there aren't any new Pokemon since the first B/W. I've never used a program like PokeGen or whatever it's called to add in my old team (and so far I've gone through every generation set clear back to R/B/Y), but considering how much this looks like just an expansion pack or added side-quest, I'm very tempted to just do that.

About a day late, but finished Left 4 Dead's campaigns the other night, and started Halo 3 a couple of days ago. About halfway done with that. I played Left 4 Dead 2's The Passing again today for the hell of it, since it directly followed The Sacrifice, which Left 4 Dead ended on. I wasn't too familiar with the first game's survivors when I played this campaign the first time, so I completely overlooked Bill's corpse in the level. I was slightly sad. icon_frown.gif

Been replaying the L4D2 campaigns solo because I'm hopelessly addicted. Speaking of addictions, I reminded myself that, yes, while Super Hexagon is fun, VVVVVV was an immensely better game by the same creator (though completely different in style so not really a fair comparison), so I went back and actually found my way to the last bit of the game, and I've completed that now. That last segment, the rooms that wrapped around, that was awesome stuff. But man that was fun. I kinda want to start over now and replay the whole thing. 1,124 deaths btw. icon_heh.gif

Oh yeah, and three levels left on Halo 3 before that marathon's over, yay.

Finished the main-game to Pokemon White. Not sure if I want to do the post-game content, though. The main story had a really disappointing ending to it, and the whole "search for the remaining Sages" seems a lot like just filler and grinding. I think I'm going to take a bit of a Poke-break, and just start B/W 2 later.

Was messing around in Minecraft for the first time in a while, in a new world since I wasn't happy with how my old one was going. (lousy starting point and Endermen tended to show up in my base too often) Dug down to bedrock and found a batch of diamonds right off the bat, but my computer crashed about twice just from playing the game, so I didn't get to play for too long.

Other than that, I've been playing Terraria a lot more lately. I've got a nearly full set of Shadow armor, and I'm not sure if I should keep exploring Hell for Molten equipment, or just take on Skeletron with Shadow armor, a Minishark, and a Flame Bow with flaming arrows. (easiest for me to make with decent damage. Dunno how to make Hellfire arrows or Cursed arrows in large quantities other than random drops.) I also need to get around to looking up decent designs to defend against Goblin invasions. I've had to put up with two of them, one right after the other, and would like something to keep them from tearing up all my NPC characters right off the bat.

That was because B/W1 had an unfinished story, which was continued into B/W2. The storyline was perhaps the best in the main games, but I am sorely disappointed with Gamefreak for what they did with B/W2. My biggest complaint about the game was that very little save for the trainers and gyms was changed from Castellia City to Mistratlon City and from Undella town to Opelucid City from B/W1. Gamefreak only added a couple of features onto it to keep you interested. This is my least favourite of the main games since G/S/C. On the bright side, the PWT (Pokemon World Tournament) and move tutors really are great and we get to see White Forest/ Black City not requiring daily maintenance to keep and instead turned into a functional battle area.

What set of armour you use for Skeletron depends on what type of player you are. Magic players are best off wearing Jungle Armour for the boost in magic power and Mana while Mele players should be wearing Molten or Shadow Armour for the high defence. If you do decide to go down to hell and get the Hellstone, watch out for Voodoo Demons at ALL times. They carry Guide Voodoo Dolls with them which, if they fall into the lava there after killing the demon, kill the guide and spawn the Wall of Flesh, another boss.

Oh crap... I didn't think about the item drop from the enemy summoning the Wall of Flesh directly. I always assumed it had to go in my inventory first.

On the bright side, my tendency to fall in lava resulted in me blocking off most of the lava pools where I've been mining, so I should be safe barring any sudden hit of bad luck. I've already got a doll stowed away in a chest so I can summon the boss when I'm ready, pre-built an arena atop the dungeon for when I'm ready to summon that boss, and built a straight tunnel for rapid travel from my base to the dungeon, so I don't have to put up with the rough terrain. I've even got a huge surplus of money at the moment, so I'm thinking of reforging my gear for better stats as well. I think I've got an Unreal Molten Fury, so that should help. I'm not sure if I should try reforging my Keen Minishark. I think I'll buy a second one to be on the safe side, in case I end up with a dud reforge.

Anyways, for bosses, I usually stick with bows and guns so I'm safe at a distance. I've got a lot of mana, but no magic weapons.

Remember, after you beat Skeletron, you can collect bones from the dungeon and craft them along with cobwebs into the Necro Armour. The Necro Armour is the best armour for ranged players before hardmode because a full set grants a 20% chance not to use ammo for each shot and a 12% boost in ranged attack power.

I've been playing The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age. I don't really have any Lord of the Rings experience from books or movies or anything, but I heard the game is an enjoyable RPG and so far it's held up to that mark.

Damn dude, I have to replay that game as well; for one, it's been forever since I've played it, and also I lost my data a long time ago as well. It's a great game with a pretty good story (although a certain point of the romantic subplot is kind of stupid) and simple upgrade system. Oh, and amazing levels to explore. Excellent game choice. I'll have to play that and the other two games based on the movies (Two Towers (which includes Fellowship levels) and Return of the King)...

... and finish Halo 3 soon.

I just downloaded Mega Man x Street Fighter earlier today (I would have downloaded it Monday, but their server was jammed). It's a good game, but also hard as balls, although part of that stems from the fact that I played it on a joypad that I haven't touched in ages, due to the fact that it messed up my old computer. I haven't beaten it yet, but I might have more time to commit to it once this whole snowstorm episode blows over. My only real gripe about the game is that there's no save feature....like, at all. Granted, I doubt it's that long of a game, but something like that would've been nice.

On an unrelated note, I might finally be able to try out Distorted Travesty, now that I think I've found a way to keep Norton from automatically deleting the exe file (I had a similar problem with another game I tried out earlier this week).

Halo 3 is complete, and so is the entire Halo marathon. The first one I've completed, actually. Ya know, minus Halo Wars because no. I maintain that Halo 3 is the pinnacle of how to end a video game trilogy, even if the game itself feels slightly lacking in a way, because the story was that good. Now, I'm all ready for Halo 4. And going back to play some more Left 4 Dead 2 because I'm a hopeless addict.

Thanks to the Steam sale, I've acquired a few games I've had my eye on: Arkham City and the Prince of Persia trilogy, as well as The Forgotten Sands and the 2008 Prince of Persia game. All for $20. But since they're technically Christmas gifts from my parents, I'm withholding playing them till Christmas day. icon_heh.gif

Other than that, played a little more Half-Life. I'm not sure how to say where I am... still in the facility, but maybe close to the surface? I'm not sure. So far though, I mean I know I'm not very far in it, but I'm not seeing the appeal in the game everyone else seems to have. The controls are a bit finicky and wonky at times, the flashlight sucks, killing enemies can get tedious... I mean I suppose that's the problem playing a "revolutionary" 1998 game in 2012, and yes, it has some neat goals and such, but I'm not really feeling it. It's good enough that I'll complete it and play the sequel (since I have it), but otherwise... well, yeah, I know I haven't gotten that far into it, but I took to Portal and Left 4 Dead much more quickly, so I think it's safe to say that I like those franchises much better...

... probably too soon to say, but I dunno.

Definitely too soon to say. Granted, HL1's no portal, but it gets good, especially when you get further. The human ai is superb, especially for an older game. And when you get further in, it gets better. It really shines in the unique scenarios, like killing the beast in the blast pit, or taking out a cyclops via air strike. That said, half life 2 is a leap forward in most areas, and it's easy to see how it inspired portal. That said, I still have a soft spot for the first, flaws and all.
