Eh.... Not really working for me. The forest overhang kills it, in my opinion, because it makes it look kinda forced and unprofessional. My recommendation would be to completely remove it as well as some of the added detail. There is, quite simply, too much detail on the screen. It makes it look cluttered and kinda silly. Take some of it off, as well as the overhang, and you'll have a solid shot. icon_smile.gif

The screen looks good though. I would remove the overhang myself. I also do not think that using so many different types of ground detail works too well here. You've got two simple types of 'grass', taller grass, flowers, leaves and rocks. Try cutting down the number of different types to make it a little more consistent and reducing the amount of ground detail overall a little so it doesn't look cramped.

On an unrelated note, I kind of smiled on the name of the area. icon_wink.gif

After mentioning it I smiled myself. icon_wink.gif

Yoshidude anyways:
  • The overhang should be removed.
  • Do the ground like the Zelda Orcale games did.
  • Move the bottom waterfall tile up
  • Remove the rounded grass
  • If that water is meant to be deep use the other water tiles

That isn't my style with GB, to be honest, it just looks like a cluttered screen.

I don't really get why, could you please explain it to me? (You did the same in sotw 329)

I sent a PM about it. :3

Also, that looks much better. I don't really have any complaints about it. Nicely done there. :3

I like the screen, but the tall grass that are by the mountain should be square imo, that would make it look better icon_wink.gif

That's looking pretty good Yoshidude, I like this version of the screen the best, but like others have said, I think the best idea to do, is use the square grass tiles for the long grass, since it is the GB set, otherwise it just looks funny.

Okay, THAT is beautiful. icon_clap.gif I couldn't stand it with the forest overhead (I agree with William in that it felt forced), but the rain is a sweet touch, and the palette is TERRIFIC with it. You also did superb with the level of detail, it's not too condensed and it's perfectly spread out, allowing the viewer to admire the entire scene all at the same time rather than being drawn to just one area of it. Perfection, brother, just perfection. icon_love.gif

Keep working with the GB set. Keep improving. Keep surprising us. icon_slycool.gif

No internet access @ home, but updated version of a screen that was posted in an earlier page of this thread. I might release the tiles used on the screen depending on the feedback I get when I get internet access established at my new house.

That is a nicely made map!
(Not sure why you named it that, though. icon_unsettled.gif )

By the way, you should be able to open the map in Microsoft Paint or something and crop out all the extra space you don't want shown. Shouldn't be too hard.

It looks really good. In my opinion, there not enough trees though. It looks empty, even if it isnt.

How about some stones in that water and shallow water? It's a little empty there. Anyways, the shallow water makes this screen look much "righer" than it looked without.
