Moonwhisper, are you playing with the Lost Isle Build? And when you killed the boss of Lv1, did you enter the room after the boss to get the Heart Container? You have to enter the Heart room so that it triggers the secrets on the blue bush screen. Why the game acts this way? Well it's complicated... but yeah, if you truly have finished Lv1 and the blue bushes haven't gone down, then you have to visit the Heart Piece room of Lv1. *shrugs*

Edit: Oh, well, this is dog crap. I closed it for a bit, reopened ZC again... and my file was back to where I still hadn't beaten the first boss >_< Something's wrong with this stupid build! Oh, and I also had the Large Quiver and the Spin attack! >_< I'll probably have to redownload the build, and start over

Anarchy, your achievment is jaw-dropping, but I don't like the idea of making a new topic about it when you are showing tons of spoiler screens of the last fight. :/ You could at leastw arn people that "spoilers ahead!" or something.
But yeah, that was some convincing proof you got there. 3 hearts and a finished LI file. I wonder if anyone can or want to repeat it....

So anyway here's what I thought of the game:
The GOOD:
Just about everything. Watching orlach whine at the player was funny. Puzzles actually had hints instead of just sitting there hoping someone would solve them. Maps actually did more than tell you the shape of the level. The original LOZ maps certainly didn't do what Lost Isle's maps did. The overall music choices were quite good, especially the catacombs and I really, really enjoyed all the nostalgic musics. It makes me wish duke nukem 3d were compatible with XP. You can get win 98 on a modern PC, but it involves pretty much getting a 3rd party motherboard, having an old copy of the program, and putting together the PC yourself. When I'm out of college I might have the time for that, but I don't now.
Anyway I also liked the customs bosses and stuff. It was very hard in some cases to avoid being hit, particularly orlach's final form. Even after I learned his patterns I still had to be quick and on the ball or poor link would burn to death. Or get hit by those cliche medicine pill shots(what the hell were those things ever supposed to be anyway?), and those hurt. Orlach's "true" form also looked pretty convincingly like a soul sucker. And overall there isn't much else to say other than that it was very fun.
I also liked how the ending was overall happy, and not grim like the rest of the game, especially if you load your game after saving past the credits. I won't say anything else other than it would have been nice if they did that in link's awakening.
The BLAND:
Finding normal treasure after solving puzzles, walking under stuff and getting hit in level 2, this kind of thing is only annoying the first time, but the game could still do without it. I'd prefer normal treasure be left out in the open or in places you don't have to solve puzzles to get to. Level 2 wasn't so bad the 2nd time either, though it was still a mild annoyance.
Having to watch cutscenes every time I face the level4/5 boss was bad also, although admittedly, this annoyance could at least be reduced by pressing F1 and LCTRL, but not eliminated.
The BAD:
Mini-games with short timers were kind of annoying. Like-likes were a bad idea to begin with, and the way Lost Isle did them was worse. It's not anything short of irritating when you lose a shield knowing full well there's only a finite number. Past level 3 you can buy them back for 400 arrows, which is steep. There really was no need for the grasps guys.
The UGLY:
Level 1 having the most ominous music of the first 4 was, er, weird. Though level 5 had fitting music, and I liked the level 4/5 boss musics. Especially for orlach's final form. Overall the music setup for dungeons was weird though. Also, err, ice and lava(*cough* summit *cough*), yeah how about no? I like that better.
Very good quest overall, though it did have kinks that could be worked out. I won't criticize the difficulty since I found a way around it and besides, it's just my personal preference anyway.

Moonwhisper, are you absolutely sure you saved? Your save problems sound very weird. O_o

Yeah, I'm positive I saved. Because my file said that I had 8 deaths and 5 hearts (I'd died once... damned grabbers.) But I closed it, then re-opened it, and it said I had 7 deaths and 4 hearts.
Well... now that I think about it. The Origin Build did the same thing to me, until I re-downloaded it.

Oh and there is no such thing as a "Origin Build".
Anarchy: Thanks for the feedback/review. I actually agree with your complaints excluding the Grasp one.
Anyhoo, you totally owned Lost Isle and it is fun as a developer to see someone ridiculing the game in a way you did. Oh and those "cliche pillers" you are calling them are... er, fire disks. yeah, that sounds right.

Moonwhisper: Oh, well that's very odd then. Hopefully you won't have problems with saving anymore.

Uhh... Wolfie gave me a specific build via e-mail for Origin

Well Lost Isle isn't the first to use them, but yeah, I always wondered why they would put enemy shots in the game that looked like medicine capsules. Not particularly bad, just weird.

Anarchy: Medicine capsules, I just don't see any similiarity, sorry...

Anyway, long before the release of LI, I think there was a thread asking what music should be used at the boss fight... It was said that the boss will be a gigantic fire demon... Now, I thought about a 9 screen arena (3x3) with a half screen big Magma enemy...
When I saw the actual boss in the game, I was like "Oh no, I won't have enough place evading the attacks! O_o". The final form of it was for me like Majora's Mask got hold of a brain... unique final boss for a dark quest.
(Man, it was long since I posted here...)
