Eh, not really that good an idea. But maybe that's just because crowbars always remind me of Half-Life 2. Also, when I saw your sig and that there'll be a Project RCS demo sometime soon-ish, I literally dropped to my knees. Don't ask me why I was standing up, as I'm not sure myself.

And I believe DashSim's avatar is a human version of Pinkie Pie. But I'm not entirely sure, so don't quote me on that.

So I shouldn't even bother asking what you think of Link with a gun? icon_deformed.gif

(And hey, neither one would be as horrible as Sonic the Hedgehog with a sword... icon_sweat.gif don't even get me started ranting, I'll never stop)

Also please don't misunderstand me. I said tech-demo. icon_smile.gif Basically I'm thinking half a dungeon or so of content for people to try out the new physics ahead of time, such as the new way the Sword works and the scripted enemies you'd fight with it and such. That's not the same as a "demo" demo where you actually get to play part of the real game.

Oh, those ponies? icon_lol.gif That's so cool! I never cared for the M.L.Ponies because... well, I'm not into horses in general. But they look MUCH more appealing to me in a human or anthro edition. icon_smile.gif

Take a guess. icon_deformed.gif Anyway, I'm well aware that it's just a tech demo. But at the same time, gameplay is gameplay, regardless of whether or not it will be part of the full game. Hell, I wouldn't care if it didn't even have proper graphics and looked like one of those test rooms that game developers always seem to leave in their games...which would actually be quite cool, now I think about it, you should do that. icon_lol.gif

Also, I find your reason for not liking MLP to be quite...odd, I guess. I mean, I'm not saying that it is completely invalid and that you MUST watch it right now (as I'm not that kind of person) but it does strike me as being rather peculiar. I didn't really like horses that much before I watched it. I mean, if it's a particular dislike that you have, then I understand how that could put you off it, but if you just don't particularly like horses and that's your only reason, I think that you should give the show a try. If you want to, of course, I'm not saying you should try the show if you don't feel like it. But I get the feeling that this probably isn't a good place to discuss it. Or maybe I've just picked up a sense of paranioa...?

Or maybe you're just a hopelessly brainwashed Brony hiveling? icon_badrazz.gif

EDIT: Also, as a general rule, I do not watch television period.

...Eh? What exactly do you mean by that? But anyway, yeah, I understand why you wouldn't watch the show if you don't watch any TV.

We just got a couple of Windows 8 beta machines at work.
I don't care for it so far. It's basically Windows 7, except they've replaced the Start menu with an entire smartphone.

Most of this GUI shift as of late (which has penetrated the Linux community as well) is brought on by tablets. I don't get it, honestly. Tablets have very specific and specialized purposes that don't really apply to me. I'd rather have a proper laptop, or better yet, a desktop.

It's people fixing what isn't broken to cater to a niche. icon_shrug.gif

So, it isn't an option to have the OS look and act like "normal" Windows? I'm going to need a new computer soon, and I'm going to hate it if I'm going to have to completely re-learn how to use one, just because the people who have the tablets don't get that it doesn't work as conveniently on a normal computer.

On an unrelated note, has anybody ever had a "clean sweep" on the PZC boards? (Having latest post on every single board at the same time) I mean a legit "clean sweep" where each topic had a meaningful entry, not just crap.

It is. It requires editing the registry in this build, but that shouldn't be the case in the final version.

Hm. Seems remote desktop connections only work once per system, so I guess I'm done looking at it. icon_razz.gif

Doesn't sound like an absolutely terrible thing to me. I don't think I'll really have that big a problem using Windows 8 when it comes out.

Anyway, I'm supposed to be reading Foundation and Empire right now. I think once I've finished the series, I'll start on the Robot novels. Might be a good idea considering the series intertwine anyway, at least via Daneel Olivaw.

Doubt it, considering in order to get the last post in every forum, you'd have to get the last post in Public Archives and all the submission/dropbox forums. That'd be kinda hard for a regular user to do.

I think I've seen people get pretty close in the past, though. I seem to recall ShadowTiger and Russ having some pretty broad "sweep"s, but... I may just be subconsciously making up things in my head, too.

I've seen it happen. Don't remember who did it; Happyman, maybe...?

But it was a long time ago, when there were less forums. Not as impressive as it would be now.

I did that here a few times. Hell, I did that on AGN once or twice. You can still see a small fragment of it, as my name is in the Archives right now as being the most recent poster there.

So ... as far as the government is concerned, I'm now working two jobs.

744 has become an actual career. Kinda stunned.

(also if windows 8's is anything like the developer preview, basically throwing both user and developer-friendliness away in favor of OMG TABLETS ... it's going to bomb massively the way Vista did. 7 is the new XP.)
